Jaquet Droz Quantieme Perpetuel Calendar Watch Available On James List
Discussing Jaquet Droz watches in the US is almost futile. It isn't that you can't find this small Swatch Group brand in the US, but rather that it is extremely rare. I saw my first one in Europe personally. I've always liked this brand but haven't known what to make of it. A lot of their designs are good, but currently they lack direction and leadership as far as I can tell. The last time the brand was really on my radar in any serious way was when Manuel Emch (current CEO of Romain Jerome) was the head honcho over there. This Jaquet Droz watch from a few years ago is a great e
Louis Vuitton Tambour Spin Time GMT Watch
Oh Louis, how you tease us. Going back and forth between fascinating watch releases and not quite innovating enough for most watch heads to love you. I however have been a fan since the days when Tambour was a fresh name. Now the Tambour is the mainstay model for the brand, that is in need of more goods. In such an economy when brand name rules over brand value, Louis Vuitton could really be taking the Cartier route and upping their game. With the LVMH family of brands to help (such as Tag Heuer, Hublot, and Zenith), it could be a powerhouse high-end fashion watch brand. Until that day
Tutima Grand Classic Chronograph Watch
Nice timepiece and something pretty different from Tutima right? I got to check out this watch direct from Tutima who was nice enough to show it to me while I was at JCK in Las Vegas. This is one of Tutima's new timepieces that was released at Basel and represents a bold look maintaining a very high level of functionality. Tutima is located in Glashutte Germany right around a few other famous German watch brands. What I really like about the watches is that you can see a Tutima watch from the 1920s and you can recognize it as being from the same brand as Tutima watches of today.
Formex 4 Speed DS 2000 GMT Watch Perfect For Diving Or Racing
Formex is one of those brands I love to notice, but doesn't seem to get the public attention it deserves. Which is a shame given how nice some of their watches are. The mantra of Formex seems to be a melding of watch and race car technology. As such, the signature tech feature that is unique to Formex and found in each of their watches is a patented shock absorption system (they call it a suspension system). It is really simple actually, and nifty. The watch case itself is attached via a vertically gliding fastener to a plate. The plate contains the lugs to which the bracelet is attache
