Founded in 2003 by Jerome de Witt, DeWitt is a relative newcomer and luxury independent watchmaker. The founder s unique family tree reveals that he is a direct descendant of Napoleon Bonaparte and King Jerome of Westphalia. In addition, his great grandfather was King Leopold II of Belgium. DeWitt s small team of watchmakers are old-school artisans, using 18th and 19th century machines and extensive handwork for finishing (guilloche, Cotes de Geneve, circular graining, and beveling).
