Cross Watches
Years ago I think it was watch makers who made pens, and now pen makers are making watches. We all know about the incredible success of Montblanc shifting its focus?to watches probably more than pens, and other brands have at lest paid attention. Italian writing instrument maker Montegrappa now has a watch collection, along with many similar companies?to itself. Now Cross, another writing instrument maker, has entered the land of?making timepieces. Unlike higher-end brands such as Montblanc, Cross decided to enter the market at a much lower price point. Hamilton Khaki Flight Timer Watch
On many occasions I've mentioned that I pretty much only feel comfortable wearing a quartz movement based watch when that movement offers functionality you can't find in a mechanical watch. Analog/digital watches such as this are a prime example. Offering the grace of analog time telling, the dials are enhanced with digital LCD screens that offer lots more functionality - as only an electronic watch can offer.New from Hamilton is this Khaki Flight Timer. Done in collaboration with the Air Zermatt helicopter rescue team in Switzerland, this is their new high-function pilot watc
Jacob & Co. Ghost Watch
For me the most interesting watch I saw from Jacob & Co. this year was this Ghost G5 timepiece. The Ghost is a brand new collection for 2011 designed by Jacques Fournier (Horology Design Ltd.) in cooperation with Yvan Arpa who is now a figure at Jacob & Co. The Ghost will comes in a few forms and is called the G5 and GT5 as well (Ghost 5 time zones). The Ghost has a new five-sided case that is strange at first but ends up looking rather nice on the wrist. I like this watch a lot more than I might expect if you just described it to me on paper. This 47mm wide case shows up on tw
Sinn Model 902 Limited Edition Watch
I think Audi is the brand to mostly thank for this new Sinn timepiece. Back in 2004 (ish) they worked with Sinn to create a couple of limited edition watches branded "Audi Design." Those watches (at least some of them) you can see below, and seem to be where this squareish, cushion case style came from. Now at the end of 2010, Sinn revisits this case aesthetic with the Model 902. A very interesting retro-futuristic watch with the heart of an aviator, and a designer body.At first I was a bit odded out by the case and dial style. It didn't remind me of the ruthless instrumental looks of
