Exclusive manual-winding 16-360 movement, whose constructive and decorative elements are entirely in agreement with the traditional watchmaking and Montblanc Villeret Grande regulator chronograph watch is controlled. The frequency of the internal manufactured balance wheel, which is equipped with massive live on its edge and involute curve terminal Philips is 18 000 beats per hour. Each structure of the movement, bridges and levers of chronograph in the mechanism of the winding wheel are patiently in bevel and polished. The calibre of Montblanc 16-360 naturally uses a column-wheel to control Chronograph, and in agreement with the concept of high quality watchmaking, the regulator is elegant Swan-neck type, whose form displays ample technical bevelling of finishing. The MeisterSinger Salthora Changes Up A Singular Design
Many people are fond of single-hand watches, and I can certainly understand the appeal. It is an extremely slick design with a lone hand spinning around the dial. That said, for people such as myself, you can end up losing a bit of precision in your time-telling, even if there is an accurate movement tucked away in the case. If that's the camp you find yourself in, then the MeisterSinger Salthora may just be the solution for you.As they put it, this is still a "typical" MeisterSinger, carrying their clean design and technical chops. Fiona Kr¡§1ger Memento Mori Skull Watch
There are skull watches and then there are skull watches like this. Looking like a Mexican "Day of the Dead special" (Dia de Los Muertos), this mechanical skull-shaped watch is full of personality and design talent. Right now it is a one-of-a-kind watch, but there are plans for production in the near future. The watch was designed by Fiona Kr¡§1ger while she was a design student at the ECAL school in Switzerland (University of art and design Lausanne). Apparently I need to credit both her and the school as she designed the watch while there."Memento Mori" isn't a name that hasn't been u
Now Writing For and Luxist
I have officially expanded my watch writing horizons. You'll now find me writing both and on Luxist (a luxury items and lifestyle blog that is part of the Weblogs network). My position there is as the watch expert, and you'll find articles there on real estate, cars, art, fine living, and anything else part of a luxurious lifestyle. Part of this new opportunity is a dream come true as I've always admired the blogs that are part of the Weblogs network. Aside from Luxist, my favorites are Engadget, Joystiq, and Autoblog. You should check them all out.
Off To A. Lange & Sohne Watch Making Headquarters In Glashutte, Germany
I've been invited to Glashutte to visit Germany's preeminent luxury watch maker, A. Lange & Sohne. My trip will take me to the Ore Mountains region near Dresden, where A. Lange & Sohne's headquarters and factory is located. Glashutte's main employers are all watch makers, and is known as a prime region focused on the continuation of the world's most dedicated mechanical art from, horology. While touring Glashutte I'll have a rare opportunity to view the nervous system of a German luxury watch making machine, able to observe and converse with the master watch makers themselves.
