Frederique Constant Manufacture Slimline Moonphase Watch Review
This isn't going to be a typical aBlogtoWatch review, because this is a watch I made myself. Given that little fact, and some added personalization, I have special feelings toward this Frederique Constant Slimline Moonphase watch. So, what I will do in this review is discuss the timepiece itself and then some of the qualities that make it different from what you can buy. That more or less means you aren't going to be able to?make one yourself, unless you are really, really lucky. In the late Spring of 2013, I traveled with an aBlogtoWatch audience member to Frederique Constant in Genev
Porsche Design Flat Six P'6310 Watch Review
I feel excited writing this review because in my opinion this Porsche Design Flat Six P'6310 is a fantastic watch. I just love it and find myself wearing it for perhaps all the right reasons. Now, a bit of background and disclaimers so that you know what this timepiece is all about and aren't confused if you are trying to look for it. What you see is (at the time of writing) the previous generation Flat Six Automatic watch model. The current generation is called the P'6300, which yes, is a lower number. Don't ask... To make things more confusing, currently on the Porsche Design website
Pierre DeRoche TNT Watches
Pierre DeRoche is a decidedly small brand with a big sense ambition. The brand owner is Pierre Dubios, one of the three Dubois brothers. The other two run Dubois-Depraz, the important watch movement module maker that I discussed here. For Pierre, Pierre DeRoche is sort of the unofficial Dubois-Depraz watch brand. They use all Dubois-Depraz movements, and the three brothers each wear one. While I am not going to go into extended detail into specific models, I did get a chance to see the entire collection with Pierre high in the Swiss mountains in the Jura where Pierre DeRoche is located
Maurice de Mauriac Chronograph Modern Tactical Vision Watch Review
Get ready for something cool. There are two watches in this article. For the most part they are the same. A pair of Maurice de Mauriac Chronograph Modern watches in 45mm wide steel cases. One is in a DLC black case with a carbon fiber dial, and the other is in a PVD black case with a black dial with white text. Doesn't look like a white on black dial? That is because of its special crystal. The piece with the blue tinted dial is a prototype - but more will come. It represents a hold of watches with colored sapphire crystals that Maurice de Mauriac will make available. These crystals a
Audemars Piguet Millenary Chronograph Watch At SIHH 2009
You know that I have been economically deluded by the watch world when I hear that a watch costs around $35,000, only to think, "that sounds like a really good price." Not that I can afford it, I just wouldn't expect an 18k rose gold-cased Audemars Piguet watch with an in house chronograph movement to go for that "low" of a price. I must have luxo-fever. But for $35,000 you can't go too wrong with this beautiful chronograph version of Audemars Piguet's lovely Millenary watch. The sorta asymmetric is not off-centered as it might appear. Two oblong circles overlap to create that interest
