Christiaan Van Der Klaauw Planetarium Watch Available On James List
I was in Basel, Switzerland sitting in a van and I saw a man wearing what looked rather familiar. There on his wrist was a Christiaan Van Der Klaauw Planetarium. Of course, it makes total sense for the man to be strutting his stuff at Baselworld, but how rare is it for someone to have one of these? Pretty rare actually. The luxury watch done in an old world style displays the signature ultra complexity that Christian Van Der Klaauw is know for. I know of no other watch with a full planetarium on the dial. I talked to the man for a second to compliment him on the piece. You just don't s
Pita Barcelona Carousel Watch Available On James List
The full line of Spanish Pita Barcelona watches are now available on James List. This includes the fascinating and highly character rich Pita Carousel. At first glace the watch is certainly unique, but you might not fully understand this bespoke creation. Each Pita Carousel watch is totally customizable - and made to order. The watch is 40mm wide? (just 8mm thick) and available in 18k yellow gold, rose gold, or white gold. There is also the option of getting one in 950 platinum. The Carousel watch has its name for good reason. This is because the movement is visible right through the
The Techy & Innovative Automatic Caliber CFB A1000 Watch Movement From Carl F. Bucherer
Don't worry that there is no watch to go with this movement yet. The caliber CFB A1000 is a really nice little machine on it's own. A few months ago I got a chance to mess around with it in person. The first thing you notice about it, is that it looks very little like most mechanical movements that you have seen. There is a distinctive 'circuit board' look to it, that commands a more modern perspective than the classic nature of most mechanical movements. This really represents taking the tried and true idea of mechanical movements and using extremely sophisticated computer design means
Gronefeld One Hertz Dune Watch
This "One Hertz Dune" is an 18k red gold version of Gronefeld's One Hertz 1912 Dead-Beat Seconds watch. "Dune" is added to the name and I think the new color tones on the watch really give it a new personality. This isn't just a gold version of the One Hertz, but a different piece with a more sultry personality. Interestingly enough, this red gold version will be limited to 20 pieces, while the steel version was limited to just 12 pieces - usually the more precious the metal, the less pieces in the limited edition.Read more about the watch and movement here when I first discussed the
