Why Aren't Watch Companies Suing Each Other For Copyright Infringement All Day Long? - Ask Watch Experts Questions About Watches
James M. from Halifax, Nova Soctia, Canada asks: How litigious are watch companies? I am thinking of the Invicta that looks like a Submariner or the Swiss Legend that looks like an Audemars Piguet, and so on and so forth. Does Rolex or Audemars Piguet just consider them "homages" and leave them alone? Do they think these companies cross the line and sue? Is there a system companies like Invicta use so they don't get sued such as just changing a look slightly? Can the sue?I ask these questions because I see so many established companies borrowing designs but I never hear of them being sued.
Ermenegildo Zegna High Performance Watches
I like these watches but I struggle to envision a scenario where I would spend the money on them. Fashion brand Ermenegildo Zegna recently debuted two watches in a new collection produced in collaboration with the Sowind Group. Based on the label?¡¥s ?¡ãHigh Performance?¡À collection of clothing, these new sport watches are fashionably (and practically satisfying). GP is part of the Sowind Group (now part of PPR), which explai
Jean Dunand Shabaka Watch
Hands-on with the Shabaka watch was very interesting. I have been fascinated by the Art Deco-themed watch by Jean Dunand since it came out a few years ago. Jean Dunand is an interesting super-high-end brand that produces exclusively "piece unique" creations. On my wrist is an 18k white gold Shabaka with a baguette diamond-lined bezel.I think the Shabaka originally came out in 2007, but new pieces are slowly being made. The movement is entirely made and designed by Christophe Claret. In fact, all Jean Dunand watches (Tourbillon Orbital, Palace) have movements done by Christophe Claret.
Angular Momentum Freehand TEC/A13 Piece Unique Watch
I really think that everyone needs a wildly well-lumed "¡§|mail-lumineuse" -based watch by Angular Momentum. The compound is a special enamel and luminant mixture that they do so well. You've seen lume, and then you've seen Angular Momentum lume. You'll be reminded of the Jungle scenes at night in the new Avatar movie. See what I mean? All those bioluminescent tones together make for lots of eye candy. Angular Momentum has been playing with designs and this is one of the newer ones. Part radioactive warning, and part cuttle fish, this latest Freehand TEC/A13 watch is an interestin
