Audemars Piguet are all inlaid nicely with carbon fiber
In the middle, the pattern changes to look like a race track curve, a bit like a flag, or perhaps the Microsoft Windows logo (surely the latter). The 44-45mm wide case came in titanium or steel and was made in the 'carbon fiber' era (as I call it). In terms of case size, I am not totally sure, but I think the gold model was a bit larger than the titanium model. The bezel on the top and sides are all inlaid nicely with carbon fiber. This also applied to the chronograph pusher housings on sides of the watch. The chronograph pushers on this model were originally meant to look like gas pedals, but have since been used so much that forget their original theme. I love the woven stitching on the alligator strap. Supposed to look like a racing suit, but (especially on the titanium model) reminds me of a Spiderman web.
Angular Momentum Phenakistoscope Watches - Memento Mori & Little Devil
This Halloween I'd like to present you with two creepy watches from Angular Momentum. Creepy yes, but in a more subtle "Swiss way." The one that creeps me out most is the "Little Devil" watch - with images of a maniacal looking infant laughing over hell fire. But let's get back to the "phenakistoscope" part of the name. The hell is that you ask? Well this was part of early animation. You'd take some type of cylinder or ring, and place images on it that if seen in a quickly moving sequence, would appear to the eye to move. Please be aware that unless this watch is operating terribly wro
Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Watch With Liquidmetal Ceramic Bezel
Why on Earth Omega would call a ceramic bezel "Liquidmetal" is a mystery to me (see update below). It not only is ceramic not liquid, but it isn't a metal. Well, it is liquid-like when being formed, but you get the idea. Ceramic as used on watches is actually made from glass as I understand it. It used to be that most bezels on dive watches were made from aluminum. Not sure why that is, but it is still very common. One approach to "luxurize" the bezel was the Blancpain approach of doing a bezel with a sapphire crystal over it. This prevented the scratching that people hate. This is rea
LG GD910 Watch 3G HSPDA Phone; Tells Time, Makes Calls, Not That Dorky
You might be thinking that this is just some gimmicky concept, or another of those skepticism filled no-name Chinese watch phones, but you'd be wrong (it is Korean, not Chinese). And it is from large manufacturer LG nonetheless, which signifies a new era for Dick Tracy wannabes. With an official announcement due at CES (the consumer electronics show) soon, the LG GD910 is a fully functional 3g (and 7.2mps HSPDA) watch phone with most of the bells and whistles in its non-wrist worn counterparts. LG calls is a "wrist phone." It even supports voice-to-text commands as well two way
Rare German Temption CGK203 Valjoux 7751 Based Watch Available
You are in luck! One of my favorite watches (that I happen to own) is available on eBay right now. If I didn't already have this watch, I'd most likely not inform you and try to get it myself. This is a rare Temption CGK203 watch that I reviewed here. Temption is a German based watch company that makes about 700 watches a year last I checked. Their Stuttgart headquarters welcomes guests and their new model, the Cameo has been totally sold out well into 2009. Like a few before it, this is a watch company that is able to do a lot correctly and focuses on extremely functional and attracti
