Konstanin Chaykin Carpe Diem Watch: Finally, An Hourglass For The Wrist
Second only to the common jest of placing a sundial on the face of a wristwatch, is the suggestion that there be an hourglass. Yes, the timing device of antiquity has a very low occurrence of actually being referenced on modern timepieces in any significant way. That perhaps is due to the fact that incorporating sand in a watch dial isn't always the best idea. Nevertheless, the enterprising mind behind the Russian watchmaker Konstantin Chaykin decided that he wanted to be the first person to do it. Behold the Konstantin Chaykin Carpe Diem, the first wristwatch with a mechanical hourgla

de GRISOGONO Otturatore Watch + Video
Aside from the magical mechanical Mecchanico dG watch, this Otturatore from de Grisogono is their most impressive recent watch for men. We first covered the Otturatore watch here when I debuted it. It is a watch that cannot be fully understood or appreciated unless you actually get to play with one. The whole timepiece is an experience in playing with it. You even have to "pump it up." Quizzical and quirky, the Otturatore itself is as strange as its name sounds (in English), yet somehow ends up being remarkably desirable given the love and care de Grisogono put into its design and deve

There's a switch on the clasp that allows you to lock the clasp which disables the push-button release mechanism. Edox Grand Ocean Jumping Hour Watch
Things have been quiet from Edox for a while, and suddenly they present a few new models. The brand has been crawling upmarket as of late, with the pictured recent addition to the line priced at over $5,000. This is the new Edox Grand Ocean Jumping Hour, and it takes full advantage of the brand's common nautical theme, and places a unique jumping hour display in the watch. As is the trend with "open displays," you can see a bit more of the hour disc than is necessary, but only a portion of it is framed (showing the appropriate hour). The minute hand is shown as a dial the encompasses t
