Montblanc Timewalker Chronograph 100 Watch: Finally, A Concept Piece For 2014
One of Montblanc's new timepieces for SIHH 2014 was this Timewalker Chronograph 100. In addition to quite literally being a rare breed of watch, the Timewalker Chronograph 100 is also part of a genre that is almost non-existent this year. That genre would be the "concept watch," which I define as a limited production timepiece with an experimental design whose sole purpose is to spark conversation and purchase by select collectors. The SIHH watch trade show this year was almost completely devoid of them, but here is one that shows off what this type of timepiece is really supposed to b
Phosphor Touch Time Watch On Kickstarter + Interview
If you are in need of any additional proof that Kickstarter is a great place to fund the development of a new watch, look no further than the Touch Time project from California based Phosphor Watches. Phosphor is well-known for their innovative digital watches which often feature E Ink (e-Ink) displays and have a sense of eye-catching charm. On August 6th, 2012 Donald Brewer and the team at Phosphor launched a Kickstarter project for their newest design, dubbed "Touch Time". Within 24 hours they had reached their $50,000 goal and, as of the time of posting, they have over 1000 backers
Jacob & Co. Cyclone Tourbillon Watch
Boy, what do I even say about this one? Jacob & Co.'s new ultra high-end, non diamond-studded watch for 2011 is this Cyclone Tourbillon. The watch has a large escapement which is actually on the front-mounted automatic rotor. Having things on the rotor is sort of a trend this year as Cartier did something similar with their Astroregulateur watch and Blancpain has a power reserve indicator on a rotor this year on a new L-evolution piece. Though the Cyclone is the first watch ever to have an actual tourbillon spinning on a spinning rotor. The movement was created by some ex BNB guys
Oris Williams F1 Team Day Date Watch For 2010
Continuing their partnership with the Williams F1 team, Oris has released a new motor sport watch for 2010 that is likely the nicest yet when it comes to a watch made for Williams. This is at least the fourth watch to come from the partnership, and it looks really nice in mostly black with a technical looking blue trim. Oris is further refining the dial design, offering a fascinating, yet polished look. The case itself is 44mm wide in DLC black. Notice the thin blue line that extends around the periphery of the side of the case. It is a neat little detail helping the case of the watch
