Nomos Lambda Watch Is New Higher-End Offering From German Brand
Today, Glashutte-based Nomos is introducing two new higher-end watches; the "Lambda" and the "Lux (discussed here)" We chose to cover each of them in a separate article. This is the Lambda, and with it is the Lux we will cover in another post. Both are similar timepieces that are offered in different case shapes - each with questionable names... Available in either 18k rose or white gold, these Teutonic timepieces take what we already love about Nomos to a new, more "luxury" playing ground. Each of course contains a totally in-house made Nomos mechanical movement and a minimalist Bauha
Artya Son Of A Gun Watch
When I first wrote about these watches their name wasn't clear. I called them the Artya Time Shot watches, but Artya prefers the name "Son of a Gun" collection. OK, cool. The point of the collection of piece unique watches is to have bullets in them. My first question when checking these out for the first time in person was "are these drilled or live rounds?" Yvan Arpa, founder of Artya, had to think about it. "Will have to check on that" is probably the response I got. His creativity is certainly aided by his lack of practical thinking in some instances.Artya's creations almost entir
Pi Watch By Ben McCarthy Review
Proof that a nice watch doesn't need to come from major watch brand is right here in this artsy timepiece created by Australian designer Ben McCarthy. The watch was "industrialized" by the also Australian firm WORKSHOPPED, who is in the business of making beautiful creations come to life, and then offering them to you. McCarthy is an interesting fellow and industrial designer who makes clearly "modernist" designs, but always seems to emphasis core function in his work. As though it would pain him if form ever beat out function. I applaud this allegiance to the core concept that the th
Celebrates Over 300 Articles Published: Now Go Read Them All
I wish I could say that it was a struggle and that the elements were against me. The truth is that most of my writing has flowed smoothly from my fingers to your screen. With lots more to write about each day, my only limitation is time and your attention span. If I could write full time about watches, and perhaps other items of interest; I would gladly. So unlike the battles in the movie 300, my personal 300 have been easier to accomplish, and with far fewer special effects. Though I am sure painted on abdominal muscles (a la the movie), would have use from time to time.I have no pla
Concord C1 Radar Watch
I finally figured out who this watch is good for! The Scarecrow. On good days it can be the Wizard of Oz scarecrow, on bad days, the one from Batman. Why that character? Well the "technofabric" strap of the watch just seems to match the burlap sack... mask that the scarecrow wears. Why is this lately iteration of the Concord C1 called the Radar? Your guess it as good as mine, but this is one of Concord's most noble attempts at making the C1 design work.See my full article on the Concord C1 Radar watch here at Haute Living.Best MatchItems Ending FirstNewly-L
