a quartz Victorinox watch is amazing
You will find that with a quartz Victorinox watch, you will on average lose or gain up to one second per week. Compare that to a mechanical watch, which can potentially lose or gain up to one minute per week. It is obvious that quartz watches are much more accurate and reliable than a mechanical watch. What makes quartz so accurate is its extremely high oscillations of up to 32,768 cycles per second.
The Real Story Behind The Bremont Wright Flyer In-House Made BWC/01 London Watch Movement
A few days ago on July 23, 2014, Bremont admittedly botched the launch of what is an exciting new product for them - the Wright Flyer that aBlogtoWatch covered here. What happened? Confused facts and efforts by who Bremont claims is a person with an agenda against the brand cast an unfortunate negative light on the release. In addition to the Bremont Wright Flyer being a limited edition timepiece done in collaboration with the Wright family (whose ancestors invented manned-flight in 1903), the Wright Flyer watch was to contain Bremont's first "in-house movement." U-Boat U 1001 Limited Edition Watch Review
U-Boat watches are a lot like classic American Muscle cars - expect for the American part that is. They are big, made with lots of metal, have cool designs on them, and make you feel good being around them. At the same time, they aren't very practical, don't always have what they look like they should under their hoods, and aren't the most comfortable machines to use on a daily basis. Italo Fontana's U-Boat brand has come very far since being a pure fashion brand of big watches with a design scheme that vaguely resembles its namesake German submarines. Public love and strong sales led
Review Of The Oceanus OCW-S1000 Manta On Amazon
Up for review today is the Oceanus OCW-S1000 "Manta," an analog powerhouse of a dress watch with a formidable inner geek. Like all new Oceanus models, it's solar-powered, radio-set and very well made indeed. This one is the thinnest and lightest in the lineup at 10.2mm thick and 85g, made from titanium with a sapphire crystal. It's a very dressy watch with some interesting tradeoffs. Here are some specs to get us started:Click on the above text for the full review at WatchReportSee Casio Oceanus watches on eBay here.See Casio Oceanus watches on Amazon here.Best MatchItems
Disney's Tick Tock Tale Short Film
Thanks to a Facebook friend I was able to learn about this new animated short film from Disney Animation called Tick Tock Tale. It is one of those shorter cartoons that will play before a feature length movie - just like Pixar (also owned by Disney does). I am excited about this for a few reasons. One, I love to see pop-culture fascination with timepieces, and two, it is actually animation by Disney again! About a decade ago I heard news that Disney vowed to only do computer animation moving forward. Which in my mind basically was a deathblow for traditional animation. Animation
