Geneva stripes and engraved Mido logo
The see-through case-back allows to see the heart of the watch - a reliable automatic chronograph movement - ETA/Valjoux 7750 - that boasts eye-gladdening decorative elements, including blued screws, circular graining and an oscillating weight embellished with Geneva stripes and engraved Mido logo.
Junghans Meister Telemeter Watch Is Going For Distance! And Going For Speed!
With their latest timepiece, the Meister Telemeter, Junghans is indeed going for distance, and speed. And yes, I couldn't help myself¡§C when I realized the watch had both telemeter (for distance) and tachymeter (and speed) scales, well, that particular Cake lyric popped into my head (and managed to stay lodged there for a good bit as well). Fortunately for you and me, there's more than just a catchy pop reference to talk about with this watch. At first glance, I quickly gathered that this was indeed retro-styled. Further reading reveals that it's actually retro-inspired as well. Junghan
Maurice de Mauriac Chronograph Modern Travel Timer Watch Review
Daniel Dreifuss, who owns Zurich-based watchmaker?Maurice de Mauriac,?is as manic as he is passionate about timepieces and design. Daniel is a self-proclaimed strap fetishist (which I will second as probably being true), and voraciously continues to add options to what are essentially made-for-you timepieces put together quasi-Lego style in his shop. At some point, Maurice de Mauriac watches will come in series, with proper names and families. Until then, it is a brand for the somewhat advanced watch lover who is keen on trusting their instincts, probably?travelling?to Zurich, and work
Chronoswiss Balance Chronograph Watch
One of my favorite non-sport watches from Chronoswiss for 2011 was this Balance Chronograph - I like to just call it the Balance. The source of the name? I think it stems from the fact that the dial is very symmetrical (and thus balanced). A quality that I highly value. Even though I can appreciate the occasional asymmetric design, my heart is most primarily focused on good symmetry. If symmetry is what we look for when determining whether a human face is beautiful then I think we probably do the same when looking at a watch face. The Balance Chronograph uses a brand new movement which
Vulcain Anniversary Heart Cricket Watch For President Barack Obama: Thoughts
I wanted to go over the new Vulcain Anniversary Heart Cricket watch that was given to President Barack Obama once again. I have discussed the watch on Luxist, and in other places as well. You should know that Vulcain has been giving new US Presidents watches for over 50 years. It is part of the Cricket watch heritage and started with Truman. He liked the Cricket watches from Vulcain because they not only had an alarm, but one that would actually wake him up. I can't say without a doubt (cause I don't know them all) that the Vulcain Cricket alarm movements are the "best" mech
