Lapizta Oryx Watch Review
If you're like I was, Lapizta isn't a brand that you're too familiar with - and while the company is relatively new to the scene (founded in 2010, on the market in 2013), its founders are actually 3rd-generation watchmakers - so there's a bit of a personal lineage, if not corporate. Located in Miami, FL, they've got a variety of themed watches for your consideration. Coming up today is one of their automotive entries, the Oryx.Given that it's pulling inspiration from the world of automobiles, let's see what the Oryx offers up in terms of a tie-in, shall we? First, and most prominently
3D Printed Working Co-Axial Tourbillon 1000% By Nicholas Manousos
US-based watchmaker Nicholas Manousos has developed the world's first 3D printed tourbillon. Named the Tourbillon 1000%, you can order one to own, and it is part of a larger movement project that Mr. Manousos has been working on for the last few years. Sooner than later, 3D printing technology will be able to produce fully functioning clocks and watches, but we are only now seeing the potential. Garmin D2 Pilot Watch
My Garmin collection (left to right, front to back): Edge 500, Edge 510, FR910XT, Edge 800, Swim, and FR70I am a very active person. In particular, I train about 10+ hours a week (mainly swimming, cycling, and running) as I am part of a local amateur (but serious) triathlon team: PacWest Athletics. So as such, I have owned various sports watches, and in particular Garmin GPS sports watches. Pretty much every Garmin sports model since 2007---except for the Approach S models which are superb golf-specific watches. Currently, I have three of their watch models plus three more Garmin Edge
Baselworld 2013: Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon
Welcome the all black ceramic Omega Speedmaster. This must be some kind of PR trick, putting?tantalizing?images online and then taking them down quickly, but with just enough time to let a few people have a sneak preview.Seems that enough information has gotten out that I think Omega knows they have something really special to tease Omega fans everywhere. The?new Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch is coming, and from the way things look, it's one pretty watch. The name says it all.? The name, "Dark Side of the Moon," pretty much refers to the fact that this is a bold black watch that just lo
Dwiss Emme Watch
Initially available for the Brazilian market, this "Emme" watch is from new brand Dwiss. Silly names I know, but it is a potentially inexpensive way to get a mechanical watch that pretty well resembles what a lot of people like in an Hublot or Audemars Piguet Royal Oak.The Emme collection is made up of a few colors and dials styles for a range of looks that aren't half bad. What I don't like however is that open date window - and Dwiss already knows that. The cases are 43mm wide and are made from 9 pieces with a lot screws. Those "side claws" appear to be loosely reminiscent of those
