Omega Wants Good Constellation Watch
Movements in the models of end higher are clearly Omega co-axial automatic gauges like the 8500/8501, 8520/8521, towards the caliber 2500. Quartz models have movement caliber Switzerland 1376 or 1523. Each size, the Constellation retains the iconic look of the angular case with side mounted "claws." I really think that "claws" are a terrible to discuss the aesthetic features on the case, but it is terminology Omega. One of the elements which is so connected to classical Constellation watches is the homogenous aspect bracelets. Using large links with no gaps, the watches have a very distinct look with the great and simple, although that tapered and complex in the bracelet of the construction. New for today and never a part of the original line are colourful rubber straps that emulate the looks. Tell Omega they would try pairing of diamonds covered watches in gold with a 1982 rubber strap and they would probably laugh you room. How times change.
Roger Smith Hand-Made Watches - A Visit To The Isle Of Man
Series 2The Isle of Man is an island off the coast of the UK mainland that is not known for many things except perhaps the TT races and also as a place for lower tax rates. If, however, you are well versed with high-end watch-making, you will instantly know that this is the place where significant things have happened in the world of horology. This is after all, the place where the late George Daniels had his workshop as well as where his prot¡§|g¡§| Roger Smith is currently carrying on and continuing his legacy of the English hand-made watch. My visit to the Isle of Man was someth
New Orleans Watch Company
Say hello to another independent American watch brand. This time from raging New Orleans. Sounds like a place with enough history to support a watch brand. The marque is simply called the New Orleans Watch Company - and the pieces have a distinct feel to them that is both decorative and celebratory - a lot like New Orleans I suppose. The watches don't seem to have model names. What I gather is that each is made to order per the customer's wishes. That equals expensive. The pieces have a very artisan feel to them versus being made in sophisticated CNC machines and alike. Seen in this ar
Hands-On With The Perrelet Turbine Double Rotor Watch Collection
The Perrelet Turbine watch caused a lot of stir when the images of the watch that will be released in October 2009 were displayed here on first. Then the Turbine Collection video was leaked was really hit home exactly what the Turbine Double Rotor watch was going to look like in action. I think it is clear that this special timepiece collection is going to be a big hit for Perrelet. A few days ago I got to experience pre-production models of the watch myself - and they are sweet! There will initially be three models of the watch. Two in DLC coated titanium with b
Sarpaneva Korona K3 Red Moon Watch Shows What The Moon Is Really Thinking
Don't blame yourself if you've never heard of Sarpaneva watches. That is ok, I didn't know of them until recently myself. Stepan Sarpaneva started Finland's first mechanical watch company in 2003, and the boutique watch maker has released an impressive array of complex and intriguing watches in just a few short years. One of the newest mechanical creations is the Korona K3 (shown in its 'Red Moon' iteration here). The influence behind this interesting moon phase watch is Stepan's view of the moon through a metal fence across forested trees. He liked what he saw so much, that the
