2(X)IST New York City Watch Review
It has probably been about a year now since I first heard the news that underwear maker 2(X)IST was about to release a wristwatch. The announcement did make me do a double take. I thought, "what's next, is Fruit of the Loom going to make a line of shotguns?" 2(X)IST was actually serious about it and wanted to not only have a watch, but one that would be unique and have wide appeal. Someday I'd love to hear the inside story. What really caught my attention though was who designed the watch. Called the New York City, the 2(X)IST watch collection was dreamed up by Jason Wilbur, the same g
March LA.B AM3 Legionnaire Watch For Collete
March LA.B recently announced a new and very limited edition of their AM3 model which has been made exclusively for the Paris based retailer?Colette. Limited to only five pieces, the AM3 Legionnaire Limited Edition is an intriguing design which mixes the recognizable style and flare we expect from March LA.B with a color scheme that pays tribute to the historic French Foreign Legion (of the 19th century). This 38mm automatic three-hander is upgraded over the standard production AM3 with a black PVD case, an olive green dial, gunmetal indices, and a genuine Louisiana alligator leather s
Hamilton Khaki Flight Timer Watch
On many occasions I've mentioned that I pretty much only feel comfortable wearing a quartz movement based watch when that movement offers functionality you can't find in a mechanical watch. Analog/digital watches such as this are a prime example. Offering the grace of analog time telling, the dials are enhanced with digital LCD screens that offer lots more functionality - as only an electronic watch can offer.New from Hamilton is this Khaki Flight Timer. Done in collaboration with the Air Zermatt helicopter rescue team in Switzerland, this is their new high-function pilot watc
Confr¡§|rie Horlog¡§¡§re Presents The ImmenSEAty Watch Movement By Gabriel Salgado
I think that just posting the images of this special one-off watch probably says enough. What else can I say? An intensely decorated movement made to look like an underwater scene. Not just that, but the actually movement itself is made to look like the sea floor. Simply amazing. The best part is that this is not just some concept or a piece of art. This will be placed in a real working watch. But probably just one. This movement is called the ImmenSEAty (clever right) and was created by young watchmaker Gabriel Salgado de Arce. This watch was part of a project at the Conf
Now Writing For and Luxist
I have officially expanded my watch writing horizons. You'll now find me writing both and on Luxist (a luxury items and lifestyle blog that is part of the Weblogs network). My position there is as the watch expert, and you'll find articles there on real estate, cars, art, fine living, and anything else part of a luxurious lifestyle. Part of this new opportunity is a dream come true as I've always admired the blogs that are part of the Weblogs network. Aside from Luxist, my favorites are Engadget, Joystiq, and Autoblog. You should check them all out.
