Interview With Watch Designer Eric Giroud
Contributed by Nick CapehornFrom formal music training and an early career in architecture to life as a renowned watch designer via an 18-month sabbatical in Senegal, Eric Giroud has certainly had an interesting and adventurous entry into the world of horology. In the 14 years since starting his own design studio ¡§C which largely focuses on timepieces ¡§C Eric has worked with the likes of Christophe Claret and Jean-Francois Mojon, and has designed watches for brands including Harry Winston, MB&F and MCT.Here, Eric talks through his introduction to life in watch design, before giving
MB&F HM3 MoonMachine Watch
This is the latest MB&F watch to be produced in cooperation with another watchmaker. Past pieces included this HM2.2 Black Box watch done with French Alain Silberstein. For the HM3 MoonMachine, MB&F selected to work with Finnish Stepan Sarpaneva; his eponymous brand is Sarpaneva. This new "Power Inside Unlimited" model is neat looking, but is much more for show than it is for great me
Portero Mini Review: Mediorce Used Watch Retailer Disguised As An Auction Site
As though I needed any reason to keep on using eBay, my experience with Portero does just that. eBay has a very good thing going on. Last I checked, it is the 9th most visited website in the United States, and on the watch front, enjoys an impressive volume of inventory daily. The auction method of buying watches will ensure you the best price for watches, hands down. Other quality sites feature flat prices, or direct to seller interaction, but there is no better online auction site than eBay. Here is one "competitor;" Portero.Portero touts itself as a "Luxury Auctions" website. The
