Sinn watches ladies section
In the year 1963, Paul Andr sold the watch making company to a young watchmaker and goldsmith, Karl Scheufele. When the company came under his supervision and management, it added jewelry section and Sinn watches ladies section to its collection. He is still the president of the company. His children are co-presidents of the firm. Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele is his daughter and she is the head of both high jewelry and ladies watch collections departments. Karl Friedrich Scheufele, son of the president is the head of gents watch section and Sinn Manufacture where L.U.C. movements of the company are manufactured.
Vintage Breguet Type XX Watches
Breguet Type XX 40mm from 1975I recently had the pleasure of being invited to look at a rare collection of vintage Breguet aviator watches and was treated to an uncommonly good time with old timepieces. While vintage watch love is deep amongst this (watch enthusiasts) crowd, it is the rare historic and interesting timepieces that really excite me on a tactile basis. Sure I can appreciate most vintage timepieces for their design and what they mean as part of the evolution of the watch, but I am not particularly interested in wearing vintage watches on my wrist. What It's Like To Be A Watch Blogger After 2,500 Posts
A few days ago, aBlogtoWatch (formerly aBlogtoRead) hit the 2,500 posts milestone. It was only about a year ago that we celebrated our 2,000 posts milestone - with that really cool graphic I so enjoyed. In the last year a lot has happened over here at aBlogtoWatch - it still feels funny using the new name as it is less than a month old at the time of writing this. Thanks Jason and enjoy!Words from the winner on this Seiko:"There is a lot to love in this watch, considering the retail price of $595: sapphire crystal, ratcheting clasp on the bracelet, a blackened-steel bezel, solid end-link bracelet, and a set it and forget it kinetic movement. The fit and feel of the case, bezel and bracelet are what you would expect from Seiko - solid. The design is a big plus - not a Submariner or Seamaster clone, but a unique design. The watc
Book Review: 12 Faces Of Time: Horological Virtuosos
As a watch writer I need to admit that most writing about watches bores my pants off. There are legions of books on the subject of watches and Ican barley resist just flipping through them to look at the pictures only. Most of these are written by super dedicated watch nerds that they abhor the idea of "dumbing down" their hobby so as to be legible. Their dissertation style text on the subject of watches should be highly accurate, extremely thorough, and painfully inane to read. Only those people who have a serious need for the information will ever get through the vast majority of wat
