Tourbillon Carrousel Watch Finally Explains What Blancpain Has Been Talking About,
The Blancpain Tourbillon Carrousel presented at Baselworld 2013 showcases the difference between the well-known (among watch people) tourbillon and its lesser-known cousin, the carrousel. Each uses very similar methods for attempting to compensate for gravity in a balance wheel. Just a smidgen of background. Blancpain used to produce tourbillon complications like the best of them. Then a few years ago they seemed to decide that the tourbillon was too common (pshh, tourbillon... I know! Like everyone has one). So they adopted the carrousel as "their" preferred rotating regulation system
Magrette Regattare Bronze Watch
The newest limited edition watch from New Zealand based Magrette is this Regattare Bronze (technically called the Ragattare Vintage Bronze), and there is a lot to love here. The Regattare collection is one of Magrette's mainstay models that have seen numerous versions and revisions over the years. Now in bronze, collectors and style aficionado's get an interesting case material option at+ a solid price.Bronze is not typically used for watch cases but 2010 and 2011 saw a range of bronze watches being released for the collector's market. It would be a tough material to sell to th
Million Dollar Baby: Hands On With the Ulysse Nardin Royal Blue Tourbillon Watch
At a certain point wealth becomes a mere number. Is there a huge different between a person worth 5 billion or 10 billion dollars? To them yes, but in the scheme of things perhaps not. Once you exceed a certain numerical limit, the figures all blend together like impressionist art ?a you know what you are looking at but the fine details are less important.Wearing the Ulysse Nardin Royal Blue Tourbillon, I forget the numbers behind the name. It is a wildly expensive timepiece that is so far out of most people?¡¥s reach ?a the price no longer matters. Diamonds and sapphires cover the 950 pl
Tutima Grand Classic Chronograph Watch
Nice timepiece and something pretty different from Tutima right? I got to check out this watch direct from Tutima who was nice enough to show it to me while I was at JCK in Las Vegas. This is one of Tutima's new timepieces that was released at Basel and represents a bold look maintaining a very high level of functionality. Tutima is located in Glashutte Germany right around a few other famous German watch brands. What I really like about the watches is that you can see a Tutima watch from the 1920s and you can recognize it as being from the same brand as Tutima watches of today.
Formex 4 Speed DS 2000 GMT Watch Perfect For Diving Or Racing
Formex is one of those brands I love to notice, but doesn't seem to get the public attention it deserves. Which is a shame given how nice some of their watches are. The mantra of Formex seems to be a melding of watch and race car technology. As such, the signature tech feature that is unique to Formex and found in each of their watches is a patented shock absorption system (they call it a suspension system). It is really simple actually, and nifty. The watch case itself is attached via a vertically gliding fastener to a plate. The plate contains the lugs to which the bracelet is attache
