Panerai Introduces Entry-Level Luminor 8 Days Watches with P.5000 Movement
Ever since the release of last year?¡¥s Luminor Marina 8 Days (PAM 510) with the new in-house P.5000 movement, there has been talk of Panerai discontinuing its entry-level Luminor models. The PAM 510 is a doppelganger of the PAM 111, with the exception of the words ?¡ã8 Days?¡À on the dial and the movement underneath, the two watches are practically identical. At this point, it is worth talking a bit about this new P. 5000 movement, which only debuted last year. First and foremost, this is a hand-wound movement that is comprised of 127 components and beats at 3Hz or 21,600bph. The mov
Visconti Abyssus Scuba 3000m Dive Watches
At Couture 2014, I had the interesting opportunity to see the prototypes of the upcoming Visconti Abyssus Scuba 3000m Dive watch collection - a timepiece collection that, in my opinion, belongs in a video game fantasy world. The Visconti Abyssus Scuba 3000m is a timepiece with a lot to discuss. Further,? the brand Visconti is another example of a writing instrument maker turned watch maker. Right now it is a one-of-a-kind watch, but there are plans for production in the near future. The watch was designed by Fiona Kr¡§1ger while she was a design student at the ECAL school in Switzerland (University of art and design Lausanne). Apparently I need to credit both her and the school as she designed the watch while there."Memento Mori" isn't a name that hasn't been u
Over 1000 Articles - Well-Earned
I like to post about these milestones -they feel important to me. I've written over 1000 articles. And I must remind myself that I also regularly write for a few other sites such as Luxist, AskMen, and more (see all my current work on the About page here). So the total watch articles I have written since starting in late 2007, is over 2000. But being my own place, I think 1000 here is still pretty impressive. I wonder if I put it all in a single book, how many pages it would be? I think we are talking more than War & Peace here. In this time
