Roger Dubuis EasyDiver Blackswan Watch
As a supplement to the new for 2010 EasyDiver collection (that I wrote about here), Roger Dubuis has released a limited edition EasyDiver Black Swan watch you see before you. These are all revisions of years of EasyDiver watches and/or other sport models from Roger Dubuis - most have been good, all have been interesting. The Black Swan, as it is called, is named as such for use of a black ceramic bezel. While ceramic bezels are no longer particularly uncommon, this one is interesting given how complex the shape is. It is still not nearly as easy to cut ceramic as it is metal. For insta
Corum Admiral's Cup Legend 42 Watch
BaselWorld 2011 had a large selection of watches you can wear from brands that normally make watches most people cannot afford. While the ultra-high end certainly had its place, many of the watches on my BaselWorld Top 11 watches list were in the "I could feasibly save up for this" range. One of them was this surprise pieces from Corum called the Admiral's Cup Legend 42. It comes in Legend 42 and 38 styles - which refers to the size of the case. Of course the 42 is for me.The case design is based on the iconic Admirals' Cup collection that Corum has been pushing lately. They ha
Oris Artix Complication Watch
Oris continues their classy "Complication" watch collection with the Artix. Easy on the eyes, and available with a six-link steel metal bracelet or leather strap. It is a graceful creation, and offers a decent mechanical annual calendar watch (with a symmetrical dial layout) at a reasonable price. With more and more watches like this coming out, I wonder what Oris' new direction in the States is going to be. I say this because Swiss Oris recently fully took over the US division. So we will just wait and see.The Artix Complication looks like it uses a stripped down ETA Valjoux 775 auto
Orient Mako CEM65001M Automatic Diver Watch Review
You don't need to spend a lot of money to get a decent mechanical diver's watch. When $1,000 and more per a watch isn't in accordance with your budget it can be hard to feed the watch lover need. A little bit of good advice and horological discovery are all you need to fill your drawers with fun watches that look good, work well, and won't break the bank. Here is the orange dialed version of the Orient "Mako" CEM65001M automatic diver's watch. It has an Orient made manufacture mechanical calibre 469 movement with day and date, as well as a study steel bracelet and a good look. T
For The Billionaire Tycoon In Us All, There Is The Kunstwinder Industrial Collection Oil Barron Two Watch Winder
I was walking by Jewelry store at night gazing in the window to see if they had any interesting watches. Sometimes you get lucky and they don't store them away for the night. I did see a few empty watch displays to my chagrin. But then, I saw something I'd never seen before. It was an amazing looking watch winder made to look like an oil derrick. Two fittings for watches were placed, one of each side. They spun around on an axis as the gold plated oil derrick model operated to pump adrenaline from my body forcing me to utter "coooool, I so want one." Too bad they were closed, or that mi
