Bulgari Octo Watch With Bracelet
The legacy of Gerald Genta continues to live on in multiple forms. We now look at the Octo watch with Bulgari's name on it, that for 2013, comes on a metal bracelet. Where did this story begin? The late designer resided in Monaco before his death (to cancer I believe). I think that while he worked in the watch industry for a large portion of his life, he always had a love/hate relationship with the industry that made him rich. Genta is most known for his work in the 1970s and 80s doing design work for brands such as Audemars Piguet and Patek Philippe, though he began his brand in 1969.
Ulysse Nardin Executive Dual Time Watch Review
I recall the first time that I saw the Executive Dual Time watch. I was visiting Ulysse Nardin at a watch trade show and saw some models I hadn't yet familiarized myself with being displayed. Clearly they were UN watches but they didn't really have that typical UN look many people associate with the brand. "Executive" in the name seemed to hint that UN wanted these watches to be aimed at business types looking for a solid daily wear. The construction was impressive and I couldn't get over that super legible dial - but did I like the watch? After spending some time with a Ulysse Nardin
Storm Mekon Watch
I was waiting for someone to do this. It was only a matter of time before the watch world was able to release a budget version of the Corum Bridge watch. Storm UK was the one that did it. Of course this is not a replica or the same watch, but the concept is the same. A mechanical watch with a thin bridge-style movement in an otherwise empty and see-through dial. It certainly looks cool on the wrist.Let's be honest, you can't precisely compare a Corum with this Storm Mekon. While they exist in the same thematic family, this Storm will never replace a Corum in terms of pure horology. Wh
Now Swiss Army Also Goes After The Breitling Aerospace With The Classic XLS MT Ana-Digi Watch
The Early 1990s brought with it the Breitling Aerospace watch line. It was an impressive and technical looking watch that broke the mold by placing a quartz movement in what was typically a mechanical watch. To be fair, the watch had a robust feature set and contained not just any quartz, but a Breitling "Super Quartz" that was accurate to within 5 seconds a years. These special quartz movements were referred to as thermoline quartz movement watches. Search for the term on my site if you want to know more about them. Now about 15 years later, Swiss Army decides to release a bit of a do
HourTime Show Watch Podcast Episode 112 - Back in the Saddle
We talk about Rolex's strategy of advertising on YouTube, the lack of new media savvy in the industry as a whole, then we delve into the extremely interesting Cartier ID2 air-free, transparent case concept watch with a power reserve of 32 days that you can't buy. The correct pronunciation of "Quixotic" is introduced into our running narrative. We also spend some time waxing poetic (again) on RGM's American-made timepieces.? And, Rolex does not use silicon in their watches.Listen to the HourTime show watch podcast episode 112 here. Download the MP3 here. See more articles about: Ro
