Longines Avigation Oversize Crown Watches For 2013
Longines has just announced a new (old looking) collection with the new Avigation Oversize Crown pieces. As a mid-year release, these are in line with the many classical sport watch pieces that Longines enjoys producing. Retro looking pilot watches are unquestionably in their renaissance as they not only manage to fit perfectly into the popular trend of larger watches, but also serve as a refreshing alternative to retro-inspired dive watches (come on folks, leave a few historic designs to revisit next year). At launch, the collection will contain a three-hander, GMT, and chronograph.
Time Timer Is The Most Straight-Forward Timing Watch Ever
No, this isn't a piece for collectors or us high-end watch snobs. This is a gadget watch and I felt it was worth sharing because of how useful it is to the right people. Most of us have somewhere along the line (or at times) forgotten that watches are about telling the time, and timing purposes. Weird right? The unbelievably straight-forward name of the 'Time Timer" watch shows what this company is all about - "timing time."According to Time Timer, the concept of their watches was to produce timing devices that were more visual, especially for children or people with learning disabili
Is Fossil Ready For An $895 Swiss Automatic Watch?
A few years ago, I used to joke that you'd never see an article about Fossil on aBlogtoWatch. So, this is actually the very first one. Yeah, I know that sounds snobby, but what exactly was I going to write? "Here is an $80 watch that is a cheap recreation of something else you really ought to buy. But with Fossil, you have the convenience of Macy's." As a business, Fossil is a fantastic money-making machine. Proudly American, the Texas-based company is actually in the business of retail product placement before they are in the market of making watches. That is at least from the perspec
Gevril GV2 Corsaro Chronograph Is Example Of What To Watch Out For
I have a lot of respect for the people at Gevril and the Gevril Group overall - especially here in the US. However, this is a watch that I needed to go off on for a few reasons. You can see a lot of the BS in this industry by examining some of the details surrounding this watch and the way it is marketed. Items like this provide a good example at why being an educated watch buyer makes sense. This watch is the "limited edition" GV2 Corsaro Chronograph watch. GV2 is a sub-brand under the higher-end Gevril brand. In the last few years, GV2 has moved around a bit in terms of market placem
HYT Watch Teaser - Who Are The Hydro Mechanical Horologists?
New high-end watch brand HYT is coming in 2012. I don't much except that the watch(es) will somehow incorporate liquid - green, possibly luminescent, liquid. One of the brand's principles is Vincent Perriard. Formerly CEO of Concord and then TechnoMarine. Perriard has been working quietly on HYT for a while now. In my opinion Perriard thrives when two things are in order. First, that he has a lot of creative freedom (I still think that TechnoMarine should have run his "Ocean Addict" ad campaign), and second, when he is able to work on a product that isn't limited by too many bud
