the Alain Silberstein Company came out with the first calculator to use solenoids
Since it is obvious that Mr. Kashio was an inventive sort of man, it only took a little while for him to decide to explore different products. At the business show in Ginza, Japan in 1949, he discovered electronic calculators. With the proceeds from the sale of the yubiwa pipes, Mr. Kashio and his brothers began to experiment with making their own calculators. At the time, most calculators were run by the use of gears. With diligence and hard work, the Alain Silberstein Company came out with the first calculator to use solenoids. The new type of calculator went on sale in 1954. This calculator also was the first to have the 10 digit keypad and had only one display window as opposed to the competitors' that had three.
Zenith Pilot Montre d?¡¥A¡§|ronef Type 20 Annual Calendar Watch
One of the coolest new Zenith watches for 2013 is the Type 20 Annual Calendar that is part of the expanded Pilot Monte d'Aeronef collection. It combines a wonderful movement and a slick retro sport style that is hard to beat when combined with Zenith's quality attention to detail. No, these aren't inexpensive watches but they are very handsome and certainly make a good case for themselves. So today I go hands-on with one of my favorite chronograph annual calendar timepieces. We first?debuted the Zenith Pilot Montre d?¡¥A¡§|ronef Type 20 Annual Calendar watch back in April 2013 here. Romain Jerome Steampunk Chrono Watch Review
I yelled at someone today for not appreciating the work of a famous artist. A pretty talented artist that if you know anything about art, you'd appreciate their work. I felt bad after yelling at the person's simple ignorance. They thought the painting was ugly, and maybe it was to them, but that didn't make it bad art. I just shook my head grinning to myself while saying quietly, "the notions of uncultured minds." I had a little bit of a snob moment. Or maybe it was just that I didn't like how someone wasn't able to recognize talent or skill, regardless of the outcome of that talent or
Zenith Captain Winsor Annual Calendar Watch
As a unique collaboration with the MIH (the Mus¡§|e International d?¡¥Horlogerie), Zenith introduces a great new member of their Captain family of watches. With a base in-house made El Primero Chronograph movement, Zenith and the MIH have developed a special new module that adds a very legible and practical annual calendar complication to the mix. In total you get the high-beat El Primero automatic movement, a 60 minute chronograph, and an annual calendar with the date, day, and month. All that and a lit Ludwig.Ludwig? Yea, you know Ludwig right? I of course mean Ludwig Oechslin, a
la Montre Verte City Pulse Pollution Detecting Green Watch
Here is a cool idea that is more than just a concept, but actually being done right now. Pictured above is the "Green Watch" and it is part of the la Montre Verte City Pulse project currently taking place in Paris France. It was started by the FING (Fondation Internet Nouvelle Generation) The project's goal is to create a system to measure air and noise pollution in urban centers, eventually learning how to create environmentally sustainable cities. There are currently three prototype Green Watches being worn that have air and noise sensors. The watches collect information and use a mo
