Ancon Magnus Watch Review
The Ancon Magnus in bronze is a fun watch from a brand anyone interested in sub $1,000 mechanical watches should know about. I recall the first conversation I had while wearing the watch "out in the wild." I was at a party here in Los Angeles and ended up speaking with someone who, like me, was a reporter of sorts. Though unlike me, this individual was strictly in the fashion industry, and while I am technically in the fashion industry... First is the Glycine Combat 6 Automatic, with a more subtle face in black or blue, classic Arabic numeral face, and the optional metal bracelet. There is also the more military style Glycine Combat 6 Manual watch with most of the same options, but just with
Customizable Jaquet Droz Les Douze Villes 12 Timezone Collection Watches + Video

They are careful not to call it a world time because it only houses 12 time zones, though the buyer can specify what 12 sequential timezones they will be (and Jaquet Droz will presumably indicate appropriate reference cities for the time zone disc). Looking at the watch you see but three functional pieces of information on the dial: an jumping hour window, and minute hand, and a window with the a city name. And really that is all you need. Pressing the pusher at 2 o'clock cycles through the timezo
Disney's Tick Tock Tale Short Film
Thanks to a Facebook friend I was able to learn about this new animated short film from Disney Animation called Tick Tock Tale. It is one of those shorter cartoons that will play before a feature length movie - just like Pixar (also owned by Disney does). I am excited about this for a few reasons. One, I love to see pop-culture fascination with timepieces, and two, it is actually animation by Disney again! About a decade ago I heard news that Disney vowed to only do computer animation moving forward. Which in my mind basically was a deathblow for traditional animation. Animation
