Dedegumo Unique Japanese Fashion Watches
Those of you who live in or visit New York City should check out a little boutique called Dedegumo. I recently learned about this shop and look forward to going there myself. Dedegumo has a few other store locations, but they are all in Kyoto, Japan. Dedegumo is a sort of watch maker. They don't make movements, but rather create artistic watch cases, dials, and strap. All very steampunkish, all very Japanese.According to Dedegumo, they hire artisans who are Japanese trained to make all the little parts for these fascinating timepieces. All of this seems to be base
Genesis: German Men's Watches By A Woman
Genesis is not just a neat-sounding word that someone thought would make for a good watch brand name. It is rather the name of the brand's founder and designer - Christine Genesis. How convenient is that? To have a cool last name like that? Christine is a rare breed being a full-on watch maker and a female. I wouldn't make a big deal of that fact if it was more common. I, for one, applaud the idea of having more female headliners in the watch industry. Christine's brand begins with some attractive watches that combine a little of classic traditionalism, Bauhaus, and modern minimalism.
Jack Shephard's Porsche Design Watch On Lost
Regular readers of mine know that I get a kick out of spotting watches in TV shows and movies. A regular viewer of Lost, I have always been curious to know what watch was being worn by Matthew Fox's character Jack Shephard. Of course, while on the island he does not wear a watch, but back in civilization in Los Angeles, he is always seen the watch watch. The show producers are loathe to give the watch much camera time. In fact, the only watch that was given attention was the Rolex Daytona that Jin was carrying as a business gift in season 1. But I digress. A few episodes ago (in the fi
Seiko Ananta Automatic Watches
It has been a few months since I was in Japan visiting with Seiko. Shortly thereafter I wrote about the Spring Drive versions of their newish and impressive Seiko Ananta line of watches. If you recall, Ananta is Seiko's first line of high-end watches for the world market. The watches totally changed my perception of the brand, and I think if you check them out they will change the way you look at Seiko as well. The Spring Drive watches aren't cheap. While they are a great value for the money, the Seiko Ananta Spring Drive Chronograph watch can still get up to the $6,000 - $7,000 range.
