Withings Activit¡§| Fitness Tracker Device Disguised As An Elegant Timepiece
When it comes to devices to track your activity throughout the day, you've got quite a few different options. Some of these slip into a pocket (which is what I've gone with), and others go on to your wrist, much like a bracelet or, for those with a display, like a watch. Until now, however, none of these wrist-mounted fitness-focused devices have actually looked much like a watch. That changes with the Withings Activit¡§| Fitness Tracker watch. If you didn't know any better, you'd take a look at the Withings Activit¡§| Fitness Tracker, and think it was just another slender and simple watch
Mondaine Stop2Go Swiss Railways Watch With 2 Second Delay
I was probably standing at a train station in Switzerland for a half dozen times before I first realized a peculiar thing about the clocks. The design of the clocks has been memorialized in Mondaine watches, and later in Apple devices, as they've "borrowed" the design in some versions of iOS. On a white background, the incredibly legible clocks have black hand hour and minute indicators along with a red seconds hand tipped with a large circle. The strange part is that when the seconds hand reaches "O," it just stops for a full two seconds, and then jumps ahead to keep telling the time.
Tourbillon Carrousel Watch Finally Explains What Blancpain Has Been Talking About,
The Blancpain Tourbillon Carrousel presented at Baselworld 2013 showcases the difference between the well-known (among watch people) tourbillon and its lesser-known cousin, the carrousel. Each uses very similar methods for attempting to compensate for gravity in a balance wheel. Just a smidgen of background. Blancpain used to produce tourbillon complications like the best of them. Then a few years ago they seemed to decide that the tourbillon was too common (pshh, tourbillon... I know! Like everyone has one). So they adopted the carrousel as "their" preferred rotating regulation system
Junghans Meister Handwind Watch
This is the Junghans "Meister Handaufzeug" or "Master Handwinding," a retro and classic dress watch scheduled for release in July of 2012. Based on the ETA/Pesaux 7001 movement, it's rather slim at 7.3mm thick and 37.7mm wide.?The design inspiration is a Junghans models from the 1930s, revamped to celebrate the brands' 150th anniversary. I think they did an admirable job. I really like the crown. Nicely sized for winding and tucked below the domed crystal. The movement is a classic, introduced in 1971 and used in the Blancpain 7002, Omega 651, Nomos Tangente, and many other watches out
IWC: The Book, The Manufacture
I did a survey on Luxist within the last year that was a survey of the ?¡ãbest?¡À luxury watch brands according to the site?¡¥s readers who participated in the poll. I had to choose five brands, and among those was IWC. With a strong, focused product line, and an emphasis on performance and gentlemen?¡¥s sport activity, I felt that the brand resonated particularly well with American audiences. While such polls aren?¡¥t hard science, the result was that Luxist readers felt that IWC was the best luxury watch brand. Beating the likes of others such as Rolex, Patek Philippe, and Audemars Piguet.IWC
