Answering The Question Of Who Works For
If you are someone that likes watches, possibly buys watches, and are reading this with your "consumer hat" on, then you are who aBlogtoWatch works for. Why do I feel the need to say this? That is a good question and why I wrote this essay. In short, it is because the word "support" really bothered me. Sometimes, I like to offer an "inside baseball" look at what goes on behind the scenes at aBlogtoWatch, and what it is like owning or working for a web magazine that covers watches and what is essentially the luxury industry. In addition to offering people insight about what we do, I of
Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Traditionnelle 14 Day Tourbillon Watch: Open & Closed
I thought it would be interesting to display both versions of the Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Traditionnelle 14-Day Tourbillon side-by-side. This includes that standard version that here is the ref. 89000/000R-9655 as well as the 14-Day Tourbillon Openworked ref.? 89010/000P-9935 that is new for 2014. While essentially the same watch, the Openworked version has no traditional dial and a highly skeletonized movement. While the case and movement are the same, the two timepieces have very different personalities (and prices). It all starts with Vacheron Constantin's in-house made calibe
Watch Winner Review: Mark Carson Hawaii Ka La
Shawn H. from Simi Valley, California was the lucky winner of the Mark Carson Hawaii Ka La watch that was the aBlogtoWatch giveaway piece in August. Here are his thoughts and wrist shots:The human mind is a complicated thing. Upon entering The aBlogtoWatch Giveaway, I left a positive comment and I said that I was going to win the Individual Design Mark Carson Ka La Watch. ?How did I know that? ?I'm not quite sure. Because, to be honest, I thought to myself that it was a pretty nice watch. ?But, it's not a watch that I would spend my hard earned money on.Long after forgetting about t
Sinn Limited Edition U1 Black Stealth Watch Available On JamesList
This is one of the hottest newer Sinn watches, and a rare 'non-branded' limited edition by the watch maker. In 2008 (maybe starting in 2007) an odd trend started - the 'black on black' watch. Everyone seemed to have a black on black sport watch with names like "phantom" or "stealth." Even Sinn was not immune and felt it necessary to produce a limited edition version of its popular U1 watch line in the black on black motif that people were crazy over.Such watches are not unreadable of course (just for people who aren't wearing the watch). To compensate for similar colors of black, the
HourTime Show Watch Podcast Episode 132 - Yes, a Teenage Grandpa Tutor
Apparently this is the show about shameless self promotion. At least according to John. First I plug the limited edition straps I had Teenage Grandpa made for aBlogtoWatch readers (which a few more of you should buy before they run out). Then we talk about the YES watch you can win this month by entering here on aBlogtoWatch. After that we talk about a see-through Cartier watch and Tudor coming back to the US. Just before we stop, for kicks we laugh about the terrible looking (and named) U-Boat Unicum (a picture of which is below for laughs).Listen to the HourTime Show watch po
