GIVEAWAY: Ritmo Mundo Persepolis Triple Time Watch
For April we have a very unique watch from Ritmo Mundo available for one lucky winner. This is the Ritmo Mundo Persepolis Triple Time. It starts with a huge 52.5mm wide steel case that has a middle section that "orbits" around to reveal one of two faces. The watch contains three total movements, each being a Swiss Ronda quartz. Luminox Field Day Date 1820 Black Watch Review
The "phantom" watch craze of the last few years had me a bit uneasy. Such watches looked cool a lot of the time, but really sacrificed functionality and practicality in many instances. Many of them just ended up looking silly with black hands and indexes on black faces. Even more insulting was the black colored luminant often used on these watches to make them "night viewable." In the US these people are mostly unknown - at least in pop culture terms. Take for instance Darryl O'Young that this Oris watch is based on.
New York Times On: Watch Advertising, Obsessive Watch Geeks
It is charming when you have someone who doesn't know a lot about watches do an article on the watch industry. That isn't to say that the journalist erred in their reporting, but rather that there is a degree of naivete to the tone regarding the topic of discussion, which is watch advertising. A lot of people correctly point out that there is a lot of consistency among watch advertising. You see the hands in the same orientation most of the time, and the date often has an "8" in it, or is at 31. The orientation of the hands is usually at about 10:10. There is nothing at all significant
