Sinn watches ladies section
In the year 1963, Paul Andr sold the watch making company to a young watchmaker and goldsmith, Karl Scheufele. When the company came under his supervision and management, it added jewelry section and Sinn watches ladies section to its collection. He is still the president of the company. His children are co-presidents of the firm. Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele is his daughter and she is the head of both high jewelry and ladies watch collections departments. Karl Friedrich Scheufele, son of the president is the head of gents watch section and Sinn Manufacture where L.U.C. movements of the company are manufactured.
Bavarian Crono Focke-Wulf FW 200 Watch
When it comes to using bits of historical aviation equipment in the physical construction of a watch, it would seem Bremont has some competition, and from Germany no less. We have showed you watches from Bavaria Crono in the past and today's watch features a handmade dial which uses original metal from the last known Fock-Wulf FW 200 Condor. Watch brands like to pump up their history a lot. This is especially true in Europe where with age comes legitimacy. It also helps when your history includes impressive things. A lot of today?¡¥s watch brands that bear vintage names don?¡¥t always have the most interesting histories. Much of them can be summed up as "man X did in fact make watches or clocks 150 - 200 years ago." Two of the names that do come with a really impressive history are Breguet and Jaquet Droz (both conveniently owned by the Swatch Group now).Breguet is well considered to be the ?¡ãfather of modern watch making.?¡À If
Bell & Ross Vintage BR 123 & 126 Heritage Watches
If I could go back and add an additional watch to my Top 5 watches at Baselworld 2010, it would be this new collection from Bell & Ross. Last year, one of their hottest models was the BR01-92 Instrument Heritage (that I wrote about here). It had a new (old) type of vintage aircraft cockpit dial design and a tan leather strap that looked like it was made out of baseball glove leather. People loves the pieces, and it finalized Bell & Ross's trifecta of aircraft instrument themed watches (though there will be more I am sure). While not the subject of this article entirely, I have
Girard-Perregaux 1966 Automatic 41mm Watch Auction For Kidney Research Charity
It is indeed a small world. I'd like to share with you a charity auction featuring a Girard-Perregaux timepiece which is connected to my family (the charity not the watch). Girard-Perregaux has donated a new 1966 Automatic 41mm watch (new for 2012) that is currently being auctioned-off in support of the University Kidney Research Organization (UKRO).The UKRO was started by a close relative of mine to research diseases of the kidneys. He started the foundation while he was undergoing dialysis treatments while waiting six years for a kidney transplant. Millions of people all over the wo
