Arnold & Son Royal TEC1 Tourbillon Chronograph Watch
Just when we were beginning to think that the tourbillon was as played-out as a top 40 hit, Arnold & Son pulls us back in. After the success of last year's Baselworld release of the UTTE, Arnold and Son had set a high bar for this year's new model. With the recent announcement of the TEC1 Tourbillon Chronograph, I think we can consider that bar blown away. Part of their Royal collection, the TEC1 features a brand new in-house movement that combines a tourbillon, column wheel chronograph and automatic winding. With a beautiful and uncommon dial layout, the TEC1 offers huge amounts o
WATCH GIVEAWAY: Serket Telson PVD Manual Wind
For June 2014, the aBlogtoWatch giveaway watch is a Serket Telson PVD manually wound limited edition watch. With a refined masculine and military aviator style, the Serket Telson PVD is 48mm wide in black PVD-coated steel. We like the highly contrasting dial and simple, yet attractive design of the Telson PVD watch from this boutique watch maker. Inside the Serket Telson PVD manual wind watch is a Swiss ETA 6497 manually wound movement which is visible through the sapphire crystal caseback. There is also a Serket logo scorpion placed on the movement. The case is water resistant to 10
Perrelet Turbine Pilot Watch
It is with great fondness that I think back to the more innocent times of 2009 when Perrelet first introduced its Turbine collection of whimsical luxury watches. Inspired by Perrelet's traditional double automatic rotor dials and jet airplane engines, the Turbine was an experimental collection of timepieces that became a big hit, and spawned dozens of iterations. It is, therefore, worth mentioning that five years after the birth of the Turbine watch¡§Cinspired by aviation¡§CPerrelet finally makes one for actual aviators with the Turbine Pilot.aBlogtoWatch went hands-on with the original T
Praesto GMT Watch Review
Say hello to the Praesto GMT. We quite liked the Praesto Aviator, and now they've got a GMT watch for us to review. Built on the Shanghai RK4D movement (aka 'Shanghai B'), the GMT is the second watch for the Praesto brand. Praesto is a spin-off effort from the folks at Giovino, who after years of making watches for other people decided to start their own brand. Bravo! At 48.2mm by 15.8mm, the GMT is large, though with a 24 by 4mm band and 140g mass it still sits well on the wrist. The PVD case and black dial reduce the apparent size a bit, though if you really want subtlety I'd replace
Blancpain Tribute To Fifty Fathoms Watch
2010 sees an interesting release from Blancpain. Given the plethora of "vintage" or "re-release" models, I wasn't at all surprised to see that Blancpain too had dug something out from their past to share with everyone. This is a model in the Fifty Fathoms collection called the "Tribute to Fifty Fathoms Watch." It is modeled after one of the original Fifty Fathoms watches from the 1950s. If you want to know more about the history, the go here.I don't think that Blancpain has officially released anything regarding this watch yet. They often wait a long while to do so... which is frustra
