Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Contemporaine Calibre 1731 Minute Repeater Watch Breaks New Records
It would not be inappropriate for you to engage in a slow, polite clap to congratulate Vacheron Constantin on the release of their new record setting watch that now holds the title as the world's thinnest minute repeater. Slim and actually quite sexy, the Patrimony Contemporaine Calibre 1731 Minute Repeater was unveiled at the new Watches & Wonders watch show in Hong Kong. Asia has had a range of watch events in the past, but the Watches & Wonders show is a new, experimental event that brands are testing in terms of releasing new mid to late-year product releases before SIHH. HD3 Hidalgo XT-2 Watch Available On James List
This watch represents a very rare breed. I believe the HD3 Hidalgo XT-2 (AKA Idalgo XT-2) was introduced in about 2006 and is one of the rarer HD3 models. This fascinating watch is a new relic. Something that might not have seen the light of day if it was introduced as a concept now. What you have is a testament to what happens when high-design meets high-end watchmaking and high-end machinery - on a smaller independent scale. The watch is the brain-child of HD3's designer Jorg Hysek and Fabrice Gonet. This watch came out when it watch makers freely admitted their creations where "craz
Vittorium Deep Diver Watch Review
Out of seemingly nowhere Swiss Vittorium showed up not long ago with some interesting and uniquely designed watches. I first wrote about their "AT" model watches here. As a newer brand I was really happy to see interesting, quirky designs meant to provoke and intrigue. With a distinct Mediterranean design twist, Vittorium seems to be focused on offering new types of marine themed dive style watch. I appreciate their lack of regard for the "conventional."The second watch they announced is this piece called the Deep Diver. This is meant to be their truer dive watch - even though it doe
Seiko Ananta Automatic Watches
It has been a few months since I was in Japan visiting with Seiko. Shortly thereafter I wrote about the Spring Drive versions of their newish and impressive Seiko Ananta line of watches. If you recall, Ananta is Seiko's first line of high-end watches for the world market. The watches totally changed my perception of the brand, and I think if you check them out they will change the way you look at Seiko as well. The Spring Drive watches aren't cheap. While they are a great value for the money, the Seiko Ananta Spring Drive Chronograph watch can still get up to the $6,000 - $7,000 range.
New Temption Cameo Watch Finally Available
Last summer I told you about the new watch from Temption called the Cameo. It is their first square cased watch, and certainly unique. As is the case with most new watch announcements, the Cameo was announced long before actual release. Well, Temption has just announced that the Cameo is finally available. Actually, the watches are being shipped, but many are sold out until the beginning of 2009. For a company that makes fewer than 1000 watches a year, the demand for the Cameo watches must be overwhelming. Still, I don't doubt that Mr. Ulbrich, President of Temption is ensuring that ea
