The first dial represents landing at Botany Bay in Australia
The first dial represents "landing at Botany Bay in Australia." Then, you have "the discovery of the Antarctic" and finally the sounding horrible "death to Hawaii" (where James Cook died in a riot). The voyages of James Cook are now well recalled by historians.
Weiss Standard Issue Field Watch Review
For what it is, the Weiss Standard Issue Field watch is sort of perfect. As a modern look at retro military watches, there is little else with this particular combination of unpretentiousness, boutique brand appeal, detailing, and value for the money. Step back in time a generation or two and something very much like this would have been on the wrist of a GI anywhere in the world. If you are looking for a no-nonsense tool watch without a corporate logo, this is a timepiece to consider.Perhaps I also have a soft spot for the Weiss Standard Issue Field watch ("Field watch") because it a
Itay Noy Identity Hebrew Watch Review
This is the Identity Hebrew watch made by Tel Aviv, Israel based watch maker Itay Noy. Part of the Identity collection, this watch focuses on using Hebrew letters for the hour indicators. To visualize this concept I am adding an image of a Greek statue of a woman. Handsome right? Not exactly "wow she is hot." Sinn ladies' watches are nicely made, easy to read, and feminine - but not girl. I think of them as being worn by some German nurse named Hilda who probably moonlights as a bartender with a permanent serious look on her face. So new for 2010 is a "mocha" version in titanium of their 243 watch collection - call
Doomsday Coming For Wrist Watch Retailers?
Watch brands are systematically killing off their network of authorized dealers that historically have helped them so much. One by one, retailers get ominous letters in the mail informing them that a long-term partner will no longer be sending them inventory. Why are the major watch brands doing this? And what does this mean for the future? Read on...After years of struggle, and a complex accumulation of factors, the industry of selling watch is about to rapidly change. It isn't so much a matter of a black and white distinction (in terms of one thing is totally in and another thing is
