Eterna Calibre 39 Watch Movement: Valjoux 7750 Alternative And So Much More
No doubt in light of the fact that ETA-made movements are harder than ever to get, Eterna has just announced that they have created a new movement, dubbed the Calibre 39, which is the result of a project that started in 2007. This is potentially a very important announcement for the industry as the Calibre 39 is designed to be both an alternative to many hard to get ETA movements, as well as a strong base caliber for lots of complications. The Calibre 39 is a fully modular movement that has been designed to be as expandable as possible, ranging from a manual two-hander to a column whee
Roger Dubuis EasyDiver Watches For 2010
It took Roger Dubuis months to get a proper press release out on this watch with specs. I took images of the new Easy Diver watches back in January 2010, and am only now able to share them with you. I wanted some hard details to go along with the images. Prices will start at $12,900 for the subsidiary second model versions. Here are two different models. The sub seconds version and the chronograph. While the EasyDiver Chronograph is a sexy number, I think the real momentum is with the time only model.Roger Dubuis gave the watch a moronic name. I love the "EasyDiver" part (a la
Louis Moinet Jules Verne Instrument Watch Review
Getting a chance to check out and review this watch for a while was really a dream come true. I recall when I wrote about it a while ago here when it was first announced. I knew then that I really wanted to wear one. The full limited edition of the Louis Moinet Jules Verne Instrument watches is finally out, and Louis Moinet even has created the artistic steampunk Vernoscope set that comes with four special pieces. My opinion is that Jules Verne style watches are going to be a big part of Louis Moinet's future, and it all starts here.So what is the Jules Vernes Instrument watch? A vin
Oris Divers Date Watch - Solid Choice
You know what Oris makes a lot of? Diver's watches. The brand just makes a ton of these things. So many models, lots of weird iterations on the theme, after a while I just sort of stopped paying attention to their new models. I mean they came out with a regulator style diving watch. Why? I mean you really need to like regulator watches to be into one of those. There are small seconds, GMTs, all sorts of chronographs, and just a number of other interesting models. In my mind, no one else has as big a variety of mechanical diving watches as Oris. So sifting through all of them I w
Nautische Instrumente M¡§1hle Glash¡§1tte Terranaut Watch collection
This collection of watches really surprised me. I've always like Muhle Glashutte watches (no I am not going to dig out the "u" with the two little dots over it, but you know it should be there), but not really like enough to discuss them in an excited manner. That is different with the Terranaut collection. Actually it is funny cause it is a decidedly "land" based watch for a maker of "nautical instruments." I will forgive them for that. The Terranaut is segmented into three version, the I, II, and III. I and II are my top picks with III being OK, but not as nice. Each of the watches c
