VCXO Ox One Magic Button Mechanical Watch With GPS Time Synchronization
The VCXO Ox One is a bold new concept from a young Geneva-based brand which offers a rather unique bond between GPS technology and mechanical movements. While the accuracy of?GPS-set quartz watches is universally?acknowledged, most watch enthusiasts will agree mechanical watches tend to have more soul, thanks to their?"beating heart," when?the same can scarcely be said about electronic watches. With the Ox One, VCXO tries to achieve the best of both worlds by offering a watch with an automatic mechanical movement?equipped with a GPS module on top, allowing for the?synchronization of th
Maurice de Mauriac Le Mans Watch Review
I like to revisit the work of Maurice de Mauriac from time to time to check out what watch designer Daniel Dreifuss is doing in Zurich. His small shop is like Lego land for watch people, where you can visit and customize a pretty darn nice looking watch with his help. Though you only get that if you travel to Zurich; for everyone else there are his "collections" of watches that you can order. Today let's look at one of the Maurice de Mauriac Chronograph Modern Le Mans timepieces. What Maurice de Mauriac thrives on is their options, but it is also a weakness. Most people are intimidated
Bianci 5837M Tungsten Watch Review
It is possible to get good watch deals these day. But they don't always come to you. I would have never heard of Bianci watches had they not contacted me, and chances are most of you would have never heard of them without me sharing them with you. Actually, it allows me to mention something about the watch world - no one has ever totally indexed it. That means there is no definitive list of every watch brand. That would require each brand that pops up to (A) know of the list, and (B) take the time to be included on the list. So as it stands (and as it will stand for the conceivable fut
RSW Outland 3H Watch Review
RSW is a brand I very much like. What makes me like it more is that most people? (even hardcore watch lovers) in the US have never heard of it. It isn't that RSW isn't distributed in the US, just that it isn't distributed that much. RSW stands for "Rama Swiss Watch." I have discussed them before, just not very recently. One of the things that makes the brand different is that they have an in-house designer. This isn't actually all that common, as many many brands have in-house brand directional people. but design is largely outsourced to specialized watch designer firms. But I digress.
F.P. Journe Tourbillon Souverain With Constant Force Escapement And Dead Seconds Available On James List
This is a hell of a F.P. Journe watch from about 2004-2005 and really resonates with me because it epitomizes what I like in the brand. Some of their other watches just feel like too little for too much, but this Tourbillon Souverain came out when the brand was smoking hot, and everyone was paying attention. An earlier F.P. Journe's Tourbillon Souverain was released before this model, but this watch added a lot to the timepiece and refined the looks of the face. Aside from looking cool, this timepiece has a ton of interesting things going on inside. For one thing, you have a very clean
