Urwerk EMC Watch: For Mobile Accuracy Tweaking
Urwerk has finally unveiled its EMC watch after teasing the movement back in May. If you'll recall, the EMC (Electro Mechanical Control) watch is a mechanical timepiece with a uniquely designed electronic module that acts as a rate measuring tool. On top of that, the movement has a fine adjustment screw that allows for you to adjust the rate results of the watch yourself. Confused? In short, Urwerk EMC is a watch with a movement you can fine tune yourself (for accuracy) and comes with a built-in tool that measures how accurate it is. Nothing like this has even been done before, and per
Gerald Genta Gefica Bi-Retro Safari Watch Available On James List: A True Collectible
I continue to lament the loss of watch industry design and figure-head Gerald Genta who died this year. People tend to remember him most for his classic contributions to the industry - which include 1970s' designs for the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, Vacheron Constantin Overseas, IWC Ingenieur, and Patek Philippe Nautilus. Granted these were all amazing and endearing designs - though they were however obvious siblings of one another. My colleague at Fratello Watches discusses those here a bit. Personally, I am a bit more interested in his later work. All that is summed up and epitomized
Star Wars Watches By Marc Ecko Sneak Preview
A deep sense of childish excitement erupted when I laid my eyes on these early renderings of the new Star Wars collection watches by Marc Ecko. The brand and trademark (for Marc Ecko watches) is now owned by the Timex group, who are probably going to do a good job at making Marc Ecko watches look much nicer. I have not always been a fan of the brand's offerings, see this article of mine here. Actually come to think of it, I don't see at all how a Star Wars themed watch fits into the Marc Ecko style at all, though I am perhaps missing something the designer did in the past. Regardless,
Girard-Perregaux Traveller WW.TC World Timer Watch
For 2013 Girard-Perregaux overhauls the ww.tc collection with a facelift that increases the size of the watch and brings the entire concept more into the brand's modern era. Compared to the existing ww.tc (world wide time control) collection, this modern incarnation of the classic is welcome, but we wouldn't strictly call it an upgrade so much as an evolution. It is more a revision that sits comfortably next to the previous ww.tc models that came before. You could easily own either or both and be satisfied. Let's take a hands-on look. While the ww.tc collection used to live on its own,
