Seiko Astron Kintaro Hattori Special Limited Edition GPS Watch
2013 and 2014 saw the release of additional new Seiko Astron models. The modern Seiko Astron was released in 2012 and debuted by aBlogtoWatch here. The Astron is probably the most full-featured and convenient timepiece that connects to GPS satellites in order to automatically update the time and location (time zone) of the wristwatch. Solar powered and feature rich, it is one of today's ultimate travel watches. Romain Jerome Skylab Spaceage Skeleton Watch
Something quite new from Swiss Romain Jerome, here is the Skylab. The new timepiece collection with its skeletonized dial and movement is unique but thematically related to the brand's other "moon-themed" timepieces that began with the Moon Dust DNA collection (hands-on here). "UTTE" stands for "ultra thin tourbillon escapement," and it certainly is. Arnold & Son narrowly beat Piaget to production of the thinnest tourbillon ever. Being the most thin isn't really that important to us. What is important is that the watch is very wearable, and very attractive. At Baselworld 2013 we got a nice hands-on
De Bethune DB25 IX Maya Watch
When I think of De Bethune watches I think of spacey designs, micro-mechanical marvels, and innovative engineering. Not hand-engraved gold dials that remember the Mayan civilization. Despite the fact that this DB25 IX Maya watch feels like a serious departure from what I expect at De Bethune, I still have a lot of appreciation for what this highly limited edition watch is.De Bethune attempted to educate me on the nature of the engraving, the meaning of the glyphs, and something about the Mayan "Long Count" calendar which is a lengthy period of 144,000 days. The character in the middle
