Harry Winston Histoire de Tourbillon 4 Watch
Back in 2009 Harry Winston released the first Histoire de Tourbillon 1 watch. I rather enjoyed it especially as it looked a lot like the Sand People from Star Wars. Since then, the Histoire de Tourbillon watch collection has been a sort of "Opus light" that explored new and interesting ways of presenting a tourbillon watch. Harry Winston has just released the fourth iteration of the Histoire de Tourbillon which sadly doesn't look enough like any science fiction character for me to include supplementary article art. It is however, the next to last member of this collection that will end
Tudor Pelagos Watch Review
It was perhaps a few years ago that I noticed my fellow watch lovers speaking more and more about Tudor watches. It got me quite curious, because before that the brand had one main image - baby Rolex. My own experience with Tudor timepieces is limited, and for good reason - they aren't officially sold in the United States. I am not really sure why that is, but it is likely a strategic decision by Tudor's parent company Rolex.True enough, many people in the US don't even know about Tudor and if they do they aren't aware that Tudor watches are owned and made by Rolex. The main differenc
Hublot Antikythera Calibre 2033-CH01 Watch Is A Re-Imagined Greek Masterpiece
One of the things I really appreciate about Hublot is that they don't do everything directly to sell watches. A lot of their events and projects are for charity or to further development in the horological world. Yes, of course, there is a branding element to each of these projects and it gets people write about the brand that might not otherwise cover a wrist watch story, but in the end it makes for a very dynamic Hublot.I recently joined Hublot for the official unveiling of the Antikythera movement that Mathias Buttet worked on making for the last several years. In French they call
Ulysse Nardin Freak Diavolo Watch Review
Back when I was a brand new watch lover I came across something weird called the Freak. I was still too much of a novice to know who or what Ulysse Nardin was, but the strange timepiece stuck in my mind - probably because there was nothing else like it (and still isn't for that matter). Over the years the Freak kept coming back and eventually all the bits and pieces of what it was in full came together for me. I understood this freakish creation and all the innovations contained within it. My time spent trying to appreciate the Freak paid off, and it coincided with my overall horologic
Seiko Spring Drive Spacewalk Limited Edition Watch To be Auctioned Off
This is one of the few times I have seen a watch at auction and thought to myself "damn, I need to be there for that." This is the very ultra cool Seiko Spring Drive Spacewalk watch. There are only six of these watches in the world, and Seiko made them to celebrate Richard Garriot's 'celebutrip' to the ISS (International Space Station) with the Russians. The story is actually kinda sad if you ask me. Richard Garriot became famous as a video game designer. Fame came with the Ultima series of computer RPG games, and most lately, the MMORPG game Tabula Rasa was supposedly interesti
