Fortis Marinemaster Vintage Limited Edition Watch
In 2012 Fortis released this lovely "Vintage" edition of the Marinemaster (that we first wrote about here). It troubles me a bit when brands use the term "vintage" as applied to a new watch. Is it just me or does that cause unnecessary confusion? What for example do you call the actual original Fortis Marinemaster that this timepiece is based on, the "actual Marinemaster Vintage?" I'm not entirely sure. Despite my meticulous focus on the meaning of words, I was glad to finally get a hands-on look at these watches. Limited to just 500 pieces in each of the two colors, in a few years the
Citizen Proximity Bluetooth Watch For iPhone
At first glance, this upcoming watch from Citizen is modern and cool, but it barely suggests its core appeal as a timepiece with Bluetooth connectivity. Look closely on the dial and you'll find the Bluetooth logo to suggest it may do something else. This is Citizen's first Bluetooth capable timepiece (that I am aware of) and it has been specially designed to only work with the Apple iPhone.I actually find it a bit amusing that most people looking at the wealth of text on the dial would probably not see anything to suggest this new watch collection from Citizen is meant to connect to t
Layered Damascus Steel Makes For A Beautiful Timepiece In The Angular Momentum COLOR-TEC Collection Damascene
It should be clear that Angular Momentum is one of those luxury brands that feel comfortable with endless experimentation. I am amazed at the sheer wealth of watch designs the company has offered over the years. That combined with their one-off pieces and limited editions make for a brand that is worth watching constantly. I am always pleasantly surprised. The process of layering steel has been going on for over a thousand years. Mostly in Japan to make swords. You know the typical Katana blade? I recall being in a Japanese sword museum in Tokyo, and seeing a good sampling of these swo
Video Interview With Hublot's Jean-Claude Biver At Baselworld 2013
I don't miss a chance to spend time with Jean-Claude Biver, Chairman of Hublot, and honorary godfather of the modern luxury watch industry. While we do spend time talking about new Hublot watches and some of the interesting things that happened at the Baselworld 2013 watch show... I am pretty sure that Mr. Biver would be entertaining even if he was talking about bathroom cleaning products. Thanks as always to Jean-Claude for his time and charisma. Learn a bit more how watch marketing is done well by watching the video. Also, we discuss the Hublot MP-05 LaFerrari that you can learn more about
YEMA Diving Chronograph Watch Winner
Thank you Ron for doing a video follow-up of the YEMA Diving Chronograph watch Ref. YMHF0202. He is the winner of the YEMA watch giveaway that was given away here in March. Here are some words from him:"I just received the Yema Diver Chronograph this evening and I really enjoy this watch. It is very comfortable for being such a large watch. The Chronograph and the Alarm function easily. I didn't have to spend the evening figuring out the settings, it is very intuitive. The alarm itself is very sonorous, not to jarring and is loud enough to wake you. The bracelet is large and uniform
