It is probably the Sentinel of IWC Da Vinci beginning that I could see me erosion. The reflex movement is similar as that involved in the new vigil IWC Portuguese Yacht Cabaret Chronograph, but the plume is entirely unlike.
Van Cleef & Arpels Cerfs-Volants Kites Watches
French is a funny language, and I'll admit that even when translated into English I often have trouble understanding it. That's because so much of French is about "in-speak," or otherwise a set of agreed upon meanings to otherwise untranslatable cultural terms. I first began to encounter this while spending a lot of time in France and Switzerland trying to decipher menus at restaurants. There seemed to be a local meaning to terms, so that when translated into English they still didn't make sense. As a non-French speaker I find that the term "cerfs-volants" which means kites to be a shi
Longines Avigation Oversize Crown Watches For 2013
Longines has just announced a new (old looking) collection with the new Avigation Oversize Crown pieces. As a mid-year release, these are in line with the many classical sport watch pieces that Longines enjoys producing. Retro looking pilot watches are unquestionably in their renaissance as they not only manage to fit perfectly into the popular trend of larger watches, but also serve as a refreshing alternative to retro-inspired dive watches (come on folks, leave a few historic designs to revisit next year). At launch, the collection will contain a three-hander, GMT, and chronograph.
Ralph Lauren Sporting Chronograph Black Ceramic Watch
Ralph? Lauren watches have taken a lot of heat in the time since their announcement a few years ago. Yes, Ralph Lauren (RL) is a fashion brand, and yes they are pricey - but they have a lot of redeeming values. One of the things RL did right in their partnership with Richemont was not to BS the movements. They simply use movements (sometimes made specially for them), from established and respected movement makers such as Piaget, Jaeger-LeCoultre, and IWC. When asked what movement is contained one of their watches - they proudly tell you that they didn't make it, and who did.
Raymond Weil Nabucco Va, Pensiero Watch
The major men's watch release from Raymond Weil this year was a new Nabucco (the name sounds too much like Nabisco to me and I think of snacks) Va, Pensiero. The odd, "comma containing" name comes apparently from a famous Verdi chorus. Does this watch remind you of anything Verdi or Opera related? Cause it doesn't for me. Get this, Raymond Weil actually writes this in their press information, the Nabucco Va, Pensiero "exudes the same power and nobility as the great Italian composer's Opera." Wow, I've only seen greater BS while staring at a cow's ass.I hope someone who writes for Raym
