IWC Announces Updated, Smaller Ingenieur Watches
Did you get your fill of pilot's watches from IWC in 2012? Good, as they have directed their 2013 efforts towards the Ingenieur and have launched a series of new models that commemorate their historic line of anti-magnetic watches that were originally designed for duty on the wrists of French engineers (le science!). The new Ingenieur models include both three-handers and a selection of chronographs. Here we will take a look at the three-handers, in which IWC has announced two very different Ingenieur variations. The first, and possibly most surprising, is the new ref 3239 Inge
Piaget Emperador Coussin Tourbillon Automatic Ultra-Thin Watch
Piaget's flagship men's watch for 2011 is the Emperador Coussin Tourbillon Automatic Ultra-Thin. I first wrote about the watch here. There you can learn more about the technical details there and in the Haute Living article that I wrote. If you want to know more about the history, the go here.I don't think that Blancpain has officially released anything regarding this watch yet. They often wait a long while to do so... which is frustra
MB&F Horological Machine No. 3 Sidewinder and Starcruiser Watch Further Luxurification Of Science Fiction
Where have I seen this look before? MB&F founder Max Busser doesn't hide the fact that he is inspired by science fiction and related culture in the creation of his timepiece novelties. The new MB&F No. 3 reminds me of a place between Star Wars' C3PO, "Batteries Not Included's" Wheem babybot, and Futurama's Bender. Compare the images, and I think you'll agree. Besides those references, there are plenty of other tech culture influences that went into the design of the No. 3 Sidewinder and Starcruiser. The difference between the two watches is orientation.
