Thierry Nataf Interview: New CEO Of Slyde Watches
He has been described as controversial, he has been described as extreme. One thing Thierry Nataf is not, however, is boring. That was the impression I got when I made my way from the heart of Geneva to a place in the mountains some 40 minutes away to the SLYDE offices in the Swiss countryside.High up on a mountain with views of farmland all the way down the valley, I sat down with Thierry to discuss his new role as CEO of SLYDE and his vision for the company of high-end luxury digital watches that right now seem to be without a perfect categorical description. 3 Essentials If You Love Vintage Watches
By James LamdinI am very much a ?¡ãwatch guy?¡À.? If you?¡¥re reading aBlogtoWatch, then chances are high that you?¡¥d consider yourself to be a member of the same club.? Ressence Watch
Last year at Baselworld I learned about this new brand called Ressence. It sort of slipped through the cracks of coverage, but then I was able to speak directly with the brand's friendly Belgian founder Benoit Mintiens. In addition to explaining to me how Belgium is known for more than just waffles and how their chocolate is better than that of the Swiss, he walked me through his timepiece. Here it is people, the latest and greatest watch from MB&F. Hands-on and in the flesh with the Horological Machine Number 4 - the Thunderbolt. What a kick-ass little machine it is. Well 'little' in the scheme of things only, it isn't exactly shy on the wrist. But that is OK, I like my statements bold, and this watch certainly is lays on the cool thick. Get the full story on the HM4 here, where I wrote about it when announcing it to the world.Unlike other MB&F watches, the aviation themed HM4 is more steampunk in feel than their other watches. Not that it is steampunk in theme,
Blancpain 500 Fathoms Titanium Watch
Wow, I did not expect to see something so bold from Blancpain this year. This is a totally new route for their diving watches. At first I was torn about the look (didn't see to be much more than what Invicta could come up with), but then I began to appreciate the more subtle items. Retained are the sapphire crystal tops on the rotating bezel (such a nice feature by the way), and new are the hands, and the face. The hands are really designed for perfect legibility in both light and dark situations, not one or the other which is sometimes the fact. They also remind me of torpedoes. I thi
