The company¡¯s biggest launchthis year was the Dior Accutron Calibrator
The company's biggest launchthis year was the Dior Accutron Calibrator, which features an innovative External Fine Adjustment System (EFAS). It represents the world's first automatic watch that gives wearers the power to fine-tune its accuracy.Wearers simply place the EFAS adjustment key into the port at the side of the case, while keeping an eye on the arc-shaped EFAS adjustment gauge on the dial. The gauge, with a minus sign at the top of the arc representing a slower speed, and a plus sign at the bottom for a faster speed, includes three notches going up and three going down, each representing a five second-per-day adjustment. By turning the key, wearers can track the adjustment by looking at the gauge markings, changing the length of the hairspring for an adjustment of up to fifteen seconds per day, without ever opening the watch. The system has been shown in independent testing to deliver an average of 99.99% accuracy, making the need for regular adjustments a thing of the past.
SIHH 2013 Watch Show Recap: Don't Rock The Boat
Today I received an interesting press release from the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) regarding the end of the 2013 show. Interestingly enough the title of the release very much mimicked the most positive way I could interpret my feelings about the show. But more on that in a moment. To remind you, SIHH is a large, invitation-only trade show put on by the Richemont Group watch brands as well as a few partners (such as Audemars Piguet). They separated from Baselworld years ago to get better contact with buyers and to be "more luxury." Compared to Baselworld it is quit
Interview With Division Furtive Watches Founder
At the time of writing this,?Division Furtive?is one of the more unique watch projects over on Kickstarter. Its founder, French Canadian Gabriel Menard, designed the Type 40 and Type 46 models to be original, a bit crazy, and pretty cool. One model is more affordable while the higher-end Type 46 is closer to the original vision that the piece was supposed to be. aBlogtoWatch speaks with Menard to discuss Division Furtive, and what these interesting watches - with their most unexpected features - are all about.aBlogtoWatch (ABTW): What is Division Furtive and why would watch lo
My TW Steel Canteen TW 1 Watch Review On AskMen
The newest AskMen watch review by me is up. This time it is on an unusual suspect, a TW Steel watch - a maker whose claim to fame is being in the business of 'big watches' (literally). The TW 1 model is part of the "Canteen" collection. It was not until I was almost done with the review that I realized the reason for the name. It has to do with the protective diver's crown. Read and you'll see if you still don't get it. Being so used to what the crown is actually for, it took me a while to realize it. Goes to show that the people in marketing at TW Steel are either not big watch af
