Roger Smith GREAT Britain Watch Specially Made For Prime Minister David Cameron
One of our favorite English watchmakers Roger Smith (Roger W. Smith) just announced that he has completed a watch commissioned by the British government for Prime Minister David Cameron's Legacy to the 2012 Olympics. Called the GREAT Britain, this is the latest in Roger Smith's series of bespoke timepieces produced on a made-to-order basis. The watch was commissioned by Conrad Bird, the Prime Minister's Director of Communications in 2012. Why? It was part of the Prime Minister's 2012 Olympic Games Legacy. Is Roger Smith late in delivering the watch at the end of 2013? No, in fact he is
Why Aren't Watch Companies Suing Each Other For Copyright Infringement All Day Long? - Ask Watch Experts Questions About Watches
James M. from Halifax, Nova Soctia, Canada asks: How litigious are watch companies? I am thinking of the Invicta that looks like a Submariner or the Swiss Legend that looks like an Audemars Piguet, and so on and so forth. Does Rolex or Audemars Piguet just consider them "homages" and leave them alone? Do they think these companies cross the line and sue? Is there a system companies like Invicta use so they don't get sued such as just changing a look slightly? Can the sue?I ask these questions because I see so many established companies borrowing designs but I never hear of them being sued.
TAG Heuer Grand Carrera Caliber 36 RS Caliper Chronograph Watch Review
For a lot people, TAG Heuer's many famous ambassadors are a positive attraction to the brand, however for others these celebrities are needless distractions. I have nothing against Leonardo DiCaprio nor Cameron Diaz, and the many other TAG ambassadors, but that's not what attract me to the brand.I have no clue if Mr. DiCaprio or Miss Diaz are horological aficionados, or if they are even knowledgeable about timepieces... So seeing their pictures on a TAG advertisement just makes me feel that the brand is simply banking heavily on the modern day infatuation with Hollywood stars to sell
Hublot King Power Usain Bolt Watch
Hublot brand ambassador and all-around nice guy Usain Bolt just got his first limited edition watch. Usain Bolt is the fastest recorded runner and is often affectionately referred to as the "fastest man in the world". Actually he is not from Africa but rather Jamaica. A little while ago (before this watch was released) I got a chance to interview him. I actually asked him some questions about what a limited edition Hublot watch for him might look like. Let's see if his answers match up to the result.Inherently there isn't much new here because this is your standard King Power
LUM-TEC Combat B7 Watch Review
LUM-TEC recently sponsored a Combat B series watch giveaway on and I was impressed with results. It was a record month for giveaway entrants, and tons of people seemed to swoon over what LUM-TEC has to offer. There is something about LUM-TEC watches that drives passion in watch lovers and novices alike. Almost since the brand's inception, the Combat B series has been part of their collection. A more modern interpretation of the classic coined-edge bezel fleiger - this watch has been offered in a ton of limited edition versions. This is the Combat B7 model. Each LUM-TEC
