My First Grail Watch: Peter Roberts
Welcome back to an original aBlogtoWatch interview series, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after. Today, we're speaking with Peter Roberts, who is, well, is hard to pin down in a single sentence, in terms of his relation to the watch industry. He's been in it for four and a half decades, going through many brands in a many capacities. He's also taught horology (teaching some other names well-known to us), writes on watches, and recently created a new version of a watch he first built back i
Pierre Kunz Belle Epoque Art Deco Watch
This is really nice, and a great use of Pierre Kunz's iconic square column sided case. Without trying too hard, Pierre Kunz has developed a watch in the O001 SR (yes, the letter "O" then two zeros and a one) that takes everything loved about Belle Epoque and art deco and integrated it into a watch face with a retrograde small seconds display. The watch weighs in at 75g (on the
No Tax At Westime Los Angeles Watch Store In April
In the month of April 2010, Westime stores will pay your tax for you. I am pretty sure that legally they need to collect tax, but it is on them. This could mean pretty significant discounts on watches. Especially given the caliber of timepieces that Westime carries. Actually, Westime has a good mix of very high-end and more reasonably luxury watches. They have a ton of brands, some of which are: Richard Mille, A. Lange & Sohne, Bell & Ross, Urwerk, Audemars Piguet, Nubeo, MB&F, Corum, and many more mainstream and hard to find independent brands. Click here to find a list of
