Zenith El Primero 410 Limited Edition Calendar Chronograph Watch
Hot on the heels of the incredibly cool El Primero Lightweight, Zenith has launched another limited edition El Primero, dubbed the 410 LE. The 410 is based on a very rare vintage El Primero model from the 70's that looked almost identical, save for the original model's smaller 38mm case. You can see an example here, said to be 1 of 25, sold by Christie's in 2012. Sporting a couple of updates, the new El Primero sticks with the vintage formula and offers an homage to a hard-to-find and rather desirable piece from Zenith's past.Based around a 42mm case, the El Primero 410 is a textbook
Innovation Spotlight: Blancpain Under-lug Correctors
The past decade has seen a dramatic uptick (pun intended) in impressive horological innovations.? From constant-force escapements to hydro-mechanical movements, mind-blowing complications are the name of the game.? And, like timepiece enthusiasts everywhere, I get giddy with excitement learning about each new breakthrough as they are revealed- generally in grand fashion - by manufacturers.Yet, there are a few much smaller innovations that seem to have slipped under the radar, that in my opinion, deserve some attention.? These innovations may strike some as inconsequential, but ultimat
MB&F HM2 Final Edition Watches: Sapphire Visions
These "Final Edition" HM2 Red SV & Black SV watches put the Horological Machine number 2 proudly to rest. MB&F first experimented with the "Sapphire Vision" concept with the original HM2 SV watch that was included in this article here. Using a sapphire plate, versus metal, as the top of the watch caused a whirlwind of "I want that." MB&F freely admitted that the project probably cost them more than they anticipated given the cost of machining the sapphire plates, but it was worth it for the fans. The original HM2 SV was limited to only 25 pieces. That is a really low amount
Three Luxury Women's Watches With Real Movement; From Van Cleef & Arpels, and Chopard, Perrelet
...Watch movement.... No, I don't just mean the watch movement that powers the watch. I mean something about these watches literally 'moves' in a playful sense to add interest and novelty to that watch. Men's watches don't really have things that just flail about, but women's watches are meant to attract attention, both from the wearer, and her audience. You'll notice that these three watches heavily feature the use of diamonds. Well women do like diamonds, but there is another reason. Not to sound remedial, but people like diamonds because they shine. The shine comes from light
Redesign: 2010 Makeover
New site design folks. It has been a long time coming and a lot of work went into the design and implementation. I would like to thank the designer and developer, and all of you for making it worth the time (and money). Please note that there will be little tweaks and enhancements to the site over the new few days and weeks. If you notice any problems, please report them to me.From a design perspective, the site concept is to present a technical and masculine feel, with a sense that whatever is being discussed on the site is something special. Even watch novices should come here and b
