What you see here is an edition of the Gulf of the BRM V12-44 shows. It is 44 mm wide in case steel PVD black with very little information and articulated pods. The Gulf logo is placed on the Dial as well as on the Crown. Inside of the watch is a Switzerland ETA automatic chronograph movement.

Panerai has debuted two new (retro designed) Luminor 1950 pieces at SIHH 2014. We have already looked at the monopusher chronograph here, and now it's time to discuss the other offering from this range: the more restrained, two-hand only PAM557 Destro 3 Days which is essentially identical to the famed PAM372 model (reviewed here), but with a lefty crown layout.This time around we really are looking at a rather simple modification: the PAM557 follows the trend set by the chronograph piece as it also shares a lot in common with yet another 2011 novelty, the PAM372 (Luminor 1950 3 Days).
Luminox Field Day Date 1820 Black Watch Review
The "phantom" watch craze of the last few years had me a bit uneasy. Such watches looked cool a lot of the time, but really sacrificed functionality and practicality in many instances. Many of them just ended up looking silly with black hands and indexes on black faces. Even more insulting was the black colored luminant often used on these watches to make them "night viewable." I don't know about how you feel, but such lume was only moderately effective in my opinion. Nevertheless, these black-on-black watches sell pretty well. Here is one such piece from Luminox that I can recommend.

One of the new watch collections for 2011 that won't be easy to find is the "Myriad" collection from Swiss brand Cyma. While brands usually amuse/irritate me when they come up with new names for their products, Cyma actually put some thought into this one. "Myriad," as a word refers to a really large or indefinite number. The dials of the pieces have either a starry image of the "infinite" universe, or a light motif that Cyma simply calls their "infinity rhodium" dial.
