The turn of the century saw Sinn reinvent itself and modernize its timepieces. In 2002 at the Basel watch fair, Sinn launched 4 new movements and 14 new models that represented an overwhelming 52 new variations. There have been several innovations made by Sinn in the 2000's and many new models have been launched. Currently, Sinn has been launching a collection of sport-chic watches entitled DEFY, and are further progressing the modernity of their timepieces.
My First Grail Watch: Fiona Kr¡§1ger
Welcome back to an original aBlogtoWatch feature, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after. Bathys Cesium 133 Atomic Clock Watch Now On Kickstarter
Bathys is, without a doubt, one of the more unique American watch brands currently in operation. We know this because out of nowhere they developed the world's first atomic clock wrist watch. Prior to last year, it was sort of an idiosyncratic?brand, with those who knew of the brand singing it's high praises (but more weren't even aware of their watches). That all changed in late 2013, when news of them creating a watch accurate to 1 second in 1000 years began to come out.How this is done is more a feat of technical wizardry than anything, and not something you'd expect to see in a wa
Helson Shark Diver 40 Watch Review
This is the Helson Shark Diver 40mm, and my favorite Helson yet.The Shark Diver line started out at 45mm, added a 42mm model and now has 40mm as well. As someone who prefers 38-40 for wearability, this is great news. With three sizes and many dial colors, the hard part now is the decision!Let's begin with a picture from Helson:Those are the three sizes. We are looking at the model on top. It measures 39.7mm wide across the bezel by 12.1mm thick and weighs 174g with the bracelet sized for my 7.25" wrist. The dial is approximately 30.6mm, and the case is 49.2mm lug to lug with
Vacheron Constantin Returns To What It Is Good At With The Collection Excellence Platine Patrimony Double Retrograde Watch
Vacheron Constantin isn't good at everything, but they are good at a few things. One of those things is making effectively simple luxury watches. Getting too avant garde really isn't their thing. Releasing "modern" watches really isn't their thing either. In my opinion the newer Quai de l'Ile collection was a visual and logical disaster.Moving forward, Vacheron Constantin has been focusing a great deal on platinum watches. The expensive and hard to work with metal has been increasing in popularity, especially as many of the world's wealthy watch lovers are seeking more and more exclusi
