Watch Winner Review: Swiss Army Officer's Day/Date Mechanical
In March 2014, aBlogtoWatch gave away a Victorinox Swiss Army Officer's Day/Date Mechanical watch. The winner was Lee M. from San Francisco, CA... and this is his watch winner review of the timepiece. If I'm honest, Victorinox Swiss Army had fallen off my radar until recently. I've always had a soft spot for the Swiss Army watches: they are well made, dependable watches with nice feature sets at very reasonable prices. The problem was that I didn't find them particularly exciting. They were maybe too plain, or too conservative with some models; in other models the cases were huge, and
De GRISOGONO Otturatore Watch Is Four-Faced
After some years of development De GRISOGONO released a fantastic new caliber in a polarizing new timepiece with a name I can barely pronounce. Try saying "Otturatore" a few times really fast. I am sure that means something sexually satisfying in Italian, but this is a Swiss brand through and through. De GRISOGONO is a rare band in the US, but one that has a lot of cool and complex pieces. While a lot of brands like to call themselves "avant garde, " I have to say that De GRISOGONO actually is.What makes me sad is how expensive this watch is. It is about 69,100 - 71,100 Swiss Francs d
Chanel J12 Chromatic Watch
In my short years as an 'aspiring' watch photographer, few timepieces have truly evaded a good picture as the Chanel J12 Chromatic. The rich universe of hues that emit from Chanel's new "chromatic" material are more or less impossible to capture in stills - as the colors mix and meld with the light so amazingly. It is a sin to evaluate this watch for yourself seeing it in still images alone.I first wrote about and debuted Chanel's C12 Chromatic watch here. There is discussed the important of the new material and the history a bit. Over 10 years ago Chanel swept the industry with the J
Croton J178898 Men's Diver Style Watch
A good value? You decide. This not so bad looking Croton watch is going for less than $40 as of when I am writing this article. Regular price is just $51.75. Compared to most watches I discuss, the price for this watch is more or less couch change. A good deal for a good watch isn't always hard to find. So let's see if this piece is worth a dinner for two at Applebee's.What I like about the (basically has no name) Croton J178898 Men's Quartz Stainless Steel Mesh Bracelet Watch is the diver watch style and mesh metal bracelet. Dial is pretty easy to read, and I like the two-tone black
Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic For 2009: Return Of A Classic, Again
If there was ever a watch that defined a brand it is the Khaki line for Hamilton. They have actually imparted the "Khaki" name on scores of watches, but the Field Khaki is the basic original military watch that started the trend. A popular watch for decades the original models were tiny by today's comparisons often being 33mm wide. Those are smaller than most women's watches today. The New Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic will be available in two (reasonable) sizes at 40mm and 44mm wide. I would love to wear the 44mm wide version in this classic style. The watches also get a lot of upgra
