Temption CGK205 & CM05 Watches
In a little room underneath Basel I sit with the humble and talented Mr. Klaus Ulbrich of Temption Germany. Temption is one of those underdog watch brands that I have been rooting for, for years. I have written about their watches a lot on - and reviewed a few as well (such as the CGK203 and the Cameo). Which you can search for easily. This is the first time that I have actually gotten to meet Mr. Ulbrich and it is an honor to meet the man behind these watches. Why Temption isn't more popular is a mystery to me. Little German brands such as this sort of stay in a small
100% LED Concept Watch Will Be Available For Purchase Soon
A while ago this interesting LED watch was being displayed as a concept in Japan. I talked about it here in my excitement. Myself, and many others got really excited at the concept - though it had a few questionable characteristics that seemed to keep it from being practical. The big issue being power consumption, that I did of course mention. 100% even did exactly what I suggested they do, and that is display the time "on demand." This way you can maximize battery life by only displaying the LED lights when you want to see them (by pressing some button most likely) - saving bat
CX Swiss Military 20,000 Feet Diver: Deepest Diving Mechanical Watch Ever
People have funny dreams. Some people have dreams of making watches with incredible water resistance. This Swiss Military 20,000 Feet Diver watch was a dream to do just that; create a mechanical watch that can survive just that, 20,000 feet under water. Not just any mechanical watch, but a chronograph, which is harder to keep as water resistant. The watch was made, it survived the pressure chamber, and it got awarded the word record. The 20,000 Feet Diver defeated the record Rolex set in 2008 with the new DeepSea Sea-Dweller watch by about 50%. It is rather cool that you can buy a Gui
Gronefeld One Hertz Dune Watch
This "One Hertz Dune" is an 18k red gold version of Gronefeld's One Hertz 1912 Dead-Beat Seconds watch. "Dune" is added to the name and I think the new color tones on the watch really give it a new personality. This isn't just a gold version of the One Hertz, but a different piece with a more sultry personality. Interestingly enough, this red gold version will be limited to 20 pieces, while the steel version was limited to just 12 pieces - usually the more precious the metal, the less pieces in the limited edition.Read more about the watch and movement here when I first discussed the
Orient Excursionist Watch Winner Follow-Up
Please thank the winner of the Orient Excursionist watch from the August 2011 watch giveaway for a follow-up image and comments. Congrats again to him:"So, and I've been looking forward to this, my Orient Excursionist was waiting at my doorstep today. The box was a little beat up - but that was UPS's fault. The watch inside was in another box, which was perfectly intact, protected by copious amounts of packing nuts. Orient packaged this watch nicely, in a presentation box with a riveted faux leather finish framing a stainless steel plate. My first impression of the wat
